A friend and I stayed here for a quick 2 night stay in September. Funny little place with rickety stairs and mould on the shower door, but apart from the grubby appearance we found the place clean enough, just very worn. Very basic, white (although actually greyish) double room, with a couple of chairs, table, sink, and mirror. We were on the first floor and the traffic was quite noisy, but nothing that'd get through a pair of earphones. We experienced a nice, english speaking guy on reception, a good luggage room and wi-fi all as positives. Close to the metro, is exactly what you pay for, good place to crash but wouldn't spend a holiday there.

We had to trudge up 5 narrow flights of incredibly weak feeling stairs (at one point I thought I would have fallen through and the last time I weighed myself I was 44 kg) should have looked at the room before I paid but that being said, when I got to the room it was the dirtiest looking bed I've ever seen. I don't even think this is worth the cheap price in Paris, the location isn't even that good, and the manager yelled at us over the phone when we asked to not stay at the hostel in some very colourful language. Eventually got my money back and moved to a wonderful little place in Montparnasse - much nicer area, whole lot less sketchy.

If I could give "Hotel" Richard a negative rating, I would. I wish I had taken out some pictures, but just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible

I would like to warn all potential customers. Do not travel to Hotel Richard, 35, rue Richard Lenoir 75011. When we arrived, they open luggage room for as, to keep our luggages. I wanted to see room, but staff denaid it. They know why. Inside this room was lot of dirts, so staff member cleanded it ahead of us. Room was also horrible: dirty walls near sink, molten light bulb above the sink, dirts on furniture, one bulb on chandelier. Kitchen in basement is same story: mold in fridge, water on floor (because the sink was not attached inside marble slab), dirt. Hotel also have no terms or conditions on reception. So we dediced to cancel at same day, move next street to another hotel (Trip Advisor award was on reception). To be fair, hotel owner paid me back.

Hotel Richard is a cheap hostel in a decent location. Yes the staff aren't helpful or polite, but neither is anyone else in Paris if you don't speak French (which I don't). The location isn't even the best but it's good enough. Not the cleanest place but again, it's clean enough. All we needed was a place to sleep after a lot of walking around the city. Don't stay here if you expect more from your hotel.
