The staff were silly enough to try and get away with putting my wife and I in the room with a broken lamp, a broken mirror and the external floodlight shining into the room. This was really silly as I am now writing a review for the hotel. I refused to stay in the room, so they moved us to a better room..... Except, there were bags from other travellers in this room and some glasses on the side table, haha! They actually were silly enough to put us in a room which was already occupied
So we complained again and were put in an acceptable room. The problem was, that they were rude and didn't apologise for their mistake. I got the stay on Natwest travel points and my next step is to complain to Natwest for ever representing this hotel. They also overcharge from the looks of things.
Apart from the hotel, I had the best time in Paris. The new room wasn't bad and the location was fine (though near the ghastly Montparnasse tower). I really don't get why hotels like these don't read the reviews and sort out their act! The only way to get them to listen is to get really angry with the staff and say 'This is not acceptable, I will pay more for something better'! They will listen, but they don't apologise.
Room Tip: Get angry and don't let them mess you around. The higher up in the hotel, the better
