I booked this hotel on Booking.com, with the total price for 5 nights being €395. However, upon arrival, they charged me €486, attributing the extra cost to taxes. I told them my initial quote had included taxes but they insisted. Since I had nowhere else to stay, I paid and checked in. Immediately, I searched for my booking reservation in my email to double-check the price. As I thought, my quoted fee included taxes. I brought the confirmation to the front desk, who acknowledged that I should have received the cheaper fee. They said when they asked for a "voucher," they were referring to my booking confirmation. I didn't understand at the time, so I just repeated I had reserved through Booking.com. Not once did they say "Oh, Booking.com? Do you have the email?"
Even though they agreed that I overpaid, they told me it was against hotel policy to provide refunds. I find this hard to believe. If they make an error, there is most definitely a way to correct the error.
In the end, they gave us the money back in breakfasts. However, my breakfast plan was to buy bread and cheese at a supermarket. I certainly had not planned to spend €10 per person per night, so I was still extremely unhappy with this agreement. However, I accepted since it was obvious I wasn't going to get a better deal.
I found this to be unacceptable, and it ruined my visit. Apart from that, the rooms were small but fine. The cleaners were very friendly and the breakfast was fine—though certainly not worth €10.
The area was a little bit dodgy, with deserted streets when we arrived at the hotel at night. I didn't feel safe walking from the subway to the hotel, even though it was about a five minute walk.
Wifi worked but was extremely slow, often becoming unusable.
I definitely won't be returning to this hotel.
