The rooms were sparkling fresh - clean and new. Tripple plane windows blocked all the street noise and rooms on the interior were super quite. Friendly staff, close to metro and Austerlitz train station, walking distance to Notre Dame and Jardin des Plantes. The king sized bed was very comfortable and the waterfall shower was a nice suprise. Free wifi rounded out a good expirence.

After missing a connecting train at Gare D'Austerlitz we were relieved to find accommodation near by. The room was small, as many original Parisienne hotel rooms are, but it had been recently renovated and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel public areas were still being renovated, which may have been reflected in our very reasonable rate, but this did not worry us at all for one night. For our first night in Paris after a long trip we were very happy here - and it is walking distance to the station so we made sure we didn't miss our train the following morning!

We recently stayed at Hotel Devillas in Paris (25-29 Aug 2011). We were 3 couples travelling to Paris for a city break.

My husband and I were the first to arrive and were suddenly met with concern. There were workmen everywhere in the hotel: in the reception, outside the bulding and on all most of the floors. The entire hotel was being revamped! My husband and I are rather open-minded so this would not have been a problem if we were told about the renovations in the first place. First impressions are important, especially in Paris.

We were greated by a very nice gentleman (the day manager) and he was very polite and gave us the keycard to our room (6th floor, the top). He apologised for the renovations.

The room was lovely. King size bed, brand new fittings, clean modern bathroom and gorgeous view from our tiny balcony. Huge sliding door cupboards with wall-to-wall mirrors. Private safe in each room and clean towels everyday. Ok I must say, that was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. The pillows were amazing! Very impressed! We are going to buy the same one for our home!

We set out for a day of sight-seeing while waiting for our other guests to arrive. We gave them the heads up about the renovations so when they arrived they were not too shocked.

I got a call from my sister, they had arrived at the hotel but were put on the 4th floor and not the 6th like we originally reserved. Both she and I when booking our rooms, asked for the rooms to all be on the same floor and the hotel responded and said that it was all arranged. Well who knows what happened. I asked the night manager at the time (who originally we booked our rooms through) what happened and he said the day manager made the mistake and mixed up the booking. They tried to fix it by offering us all rooms on the 3rd floor but we were all stettled in our rooms and were not prepared to move. So they stayed on the 4th. In the greater scheme of things, it was not a major issue, it was just annoying.

So bottom line, it's a lovely hotel in a good location (close to central metro and bus lines). Comfortable rooms and the staff were really friendly. For 92 euros per night we would have loved the warning about the renovations.

Tip or advice: ask your hotel if they are undergoing any renovations! And ask for a room of the 6th floor!

we stayed here in june for 2 nights!the reception staff are friendly , other than that this hotel is a complete no-no!
they seem to have some renovations going on , but they dint see fit to inform us when we booked.dingy reception, and the neighborhood is unsafe, we were in paris for a week , and spent our last 2 days here. big mistake !
