I come to Paris a few times a year and stayed in a number of hotels, including 3* like Louvre Rivoli and more luxury ones like Le Meurice. First time I stayed at Louvre Rivoli was in 2008 and i came back there a few times after that. The location is perfect, on a small and relatively quiet street (as quiet as it can get in central Paris). However, it's literally 2 steps away from rue Rivoli and the embankment (nice area for walking around), as well Chatelet metro station & taxi stand. It is also 5 minute walk to Louvre and there are lots of nice places to eat in the neigjborhood. So if you're in Paris for sightseeing and/or shopping, the location is truly great! The hotel also has spacious (especially for central Paris), clean and quite nicely renovated rooms. Just don't take book a single room on the 6th floor if you're travelling solo (can get a bit claustrophobic). Double rooms are very nice for this price level. The hotel is relatively small, so don't expect the range of facilities standard for larger chain hotels (e.g. there is no lobby bar as such although it exists but there are lots of places to grab a drink in the neighborhood). However, this time we got a special offer with the breakfast included and it was more than we actually expected (not just a usual croissant & tea/coffee which is quite standard). The staff is also super friendly and speak good English (which is always a nice surprise in France), especially Laurent at the reception! So if you want to be in the center, have a nice hotel w/o spending too much, I would definitely recommend it.
