We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights at the end of May and we loved it very much for the value it offered that we'd return to this hotel again on our next trip to Paris.
Before we took off for the trip, we knew we wanted to be in Champs Elysee area. However, all 2-3 star hotels near Champs Elysees were price at least Euro $160 a night. Citea comparatively offers great value for its location.
1) It's located just behind Arc Du Triomphe, underneath which is Charles de Gaulle Etoile Metro station that has several metro lines (metro 6, A, 1, 2 ) directly lead to Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Sacre Coeur, Opera Garnier etc. This means that we didn't need to spend much time transfering from metro line to metro line each day and saved us a lot of precious time for visiting as many places as possible.
The location also allows us to have late night visit to Arc Du Triomphe to capture some night time photo after dinner and a stroll of the Champs Elysees. Shopping and restaurant dining was also very convenient since the hotel was just steps away from the popular shops and restaurants located on Champ Elysee. Never mind getting bored at night when you can just take a stroll and catch up on all the shopping and dining you've missed during the day.
2) The hotel room has one cabinet with a small kitchennett (two hot burners) and a small kitchen sink next to the burners. It has a microwave above the buners and a fridge below the burners. All the cookery, utensils, pots, plates are stored in the cabinet next to the kitchenette. Our sightseeing schedule was so full that the kitchennette was a great way to fix ourselves a quick breakfast before we embark on our hectic sightseeing trip. It saved us a great deal of time trying to look for a breakfast spot first thing in the morning.
The hotel staff also provided us with a small bottle of dish washing soap as well for our convenience.
3) The hotel room is of modern design, It has large windows to the street, small flat screen TV, enough electric outlet for recharging your camera, phone etc. I would not say the furnishing in the room is of any luxury but they are simple but practical. It has a desk and a table big enough for two people to have meals together and the bed was simple but comfortable (see pic already attached by others)
4) The hotel offers in room FREE Wifi when many luxury hotels charge you a great deal for internet access. The hotel front desk gave us the password when we checked in.
5) The hotel room also has AN IN-ROOM safe box which was very important to us given that we had our wallet stolen in London, we were paranoid about having our passports and rest of credit cards and valuables stored safely in our room so that we can go light when we step out for the sightseeing.
6) The hotel has a small front desk which closes late into the night, however, the front desk staff was very friendly. We didn't know much of French but we wanted to try authentic French restaurants, so the hotel staff called the restaurants on our behalf to make the reservations.
7) The hotel also offers city, metro maps, sightseeing brochers etc at the front desk which was very helpful in planning our day.
To summarize, if you're looking for a clean, simple but practical hotel that offers great value, convenience and location, I'd highly recommend Citea Paris Tilsitt.
The only con I think the hotel room can improve going forward is that the fan power in the bathroom and toilette area seem to be a little weak so it may take a while for the shower steam to evaporate.
