“Perfect abode from which to explore and savor Paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This was a very comfortable and easy hotel to stay in. I enjoyed its location, only 20 minutes from central Paris via metro (there's a convenient metro stop right outside the door), and also in a real neighborhood. I enjoyed observing Parisian life around the hotel as much as an tourist attraction. There is a fabulous patisserie across the street for easy and delicious croissant breakfasts, and several good cafes in the area. The day after I arrived, a pleasant street market appeared with all kinds of produce, pots and pans, and flowers, and cheeses. The street in front of the hotel is very good for walking, and if you have the energy you can walk to central Paris in about 40 minutes.

The hotel itself was quaint, with great reception and service. Staff greet travelers warmly and are willing to help with requests from directions to understanding French directions for a local SIM card, to running across the traffic circle to find the taxi that had been ordered to get to the airport. They go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and supported, from arrival through checkout and departure.

The hotel contained the smallest elevator I have ever seen, but fit my medium size rolling luggage along with myself. My room was clean and comfortable, and designed to use each inch of space efficiently. I enjoyed the large window overlooking the street, crown molding, and tapestry linens, which all gave a sense of authenticity to the hotel. While small, the bathroom was newly renovated with rainforest shower head and outfitted with quality and clean towels, and good toiletry products. The one complaint with the bathroom is that the water pressure was set too high to for the mini size of the sink, often ricocheting off the edge of the ceramic bowl to the floor below, leaving puddles. The bed was quite comfortable and I enjoyed being able to view various cable channels on the flat screen TV and listen to my own music on the iPod radio provided in the room.

The hotel has some noise from outside traffic, but this dies down at night. Being situated above a subway station means an occasional rumble from below, but nothing that disturbs sleep, and I'm quite a light sleeper. If I return to Paris, I would definitely stay here again. It's a great value.

“Mini break in Paris, handy hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Went to Paris with my boyfriend for a mini-break. Booked this little boutique hotel, it was 2 mins for the metro stop. Was approximately a 20min trip into the centre and we were on the right side of Paris to go to Disneyland.

The hotel itself was lovely, quite small but I believe this is typical here. The room was nice, comfy bed. Had a small bathroom and lovely shower. Was really clean! Flat-screen tv on the wall and an ipod dock. The only downside would be that there weren't any nice restaurants beside it (apart from a lovely bakery across the street and a market on Sundays) and the train ran under the hotel. I am a very light sleeper and found this a bit tough.

Would recommend this place though, convenient, friendly staff and nice rooms. What more could you want for a city break!

Thank you so much for your review. We are so happy you enjoyed the new LCD flat screen Tv's and the smart phone docks. In the next month we will also be installing new safes for portable computers as well.

About the restaurants, there is quite a few wonderful one's in the area. On your next trip don't hesitate to ask the reception or flip thru the pages of our booklet in the rooms

Thanks again!

I can't wait to stay at this hotel again. 3 student friends stayed here last July for 3 nights.
Rooms very clean, slightly small because we had a twin room with an extra bed. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Bathroom was clean. Decor was lovely, made the stay so much more enjoyable - we could look forward to getting back to the hotel after busy days out. Relaxed atmosphere, not too busy. Location was excellent for us as metro stop was literally across the street (about 15mins to center. ish). We didn't spend much time in the area, but it was decent enough and felt safe. Great bakery near-by of course Only one problem and that was that the hairdryer broke - within the day she went out and bought us a brand new one! There was always staff available to help. You should definitely stay at this hotel :)

Thank you! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Our area is really lovely but there is so much to see in Paris that you can't do it all.

It is wonderful to read all the comments about the decoration. It has just come together over the last eleven years with a bit of my mother in laws input, a bit of my mothers as well, a bit of mine and just about anyone who cares to help! We actually just had Travel and Leisure come to take photos for an article, it should be out in April.

Take care!

“Would I come again? Yes!”

I should have submitted this review much earlier but better late than never.

I spent a lot of time choosing hotels in Paris before deciding on this one. It turned out to be an excellent choice indeed, even more so when the metro exit is literally steps from the hotel's entrance.

It is located in a very agreeable neighbourhood - Paris 12, and is convenient too as there are many useful shops nearby.

***WHAT'S AROUND?***

Across the road you have Vandermeersch which serves the most divine pastries. Loved the croissants and pain au chocolat. And yes the mille feuille is to die for.

Next to is is a supermarket which is great, you can buy mineral water here in a multipack which saves a lot of money compared to the nosebleed prices elsewhere.

There's a small stationery shop too and for some convenient eats you have Subway, Quick and Mc Donalds.

A self service launderette is a couple minutes walk away, on the same road as the Ibis if I'm not mistaken.

If you need an even larger supermarket there's a Monoprix which is about a 5-10 minute stroll up ave Daumesnil or you could take the metro there.

***THE ROOM***

Back to the room, it was a single room, petite as communicated beforehand, nevertheless tastefully and charmingly decorated just like the rest of the hotel. It was clean and like others have mentioned the bed is comfortable.

Getting the shower to be at the right temperature was a bit of a game though - it can be temperamental. But after a couple of days I managed to tame it and everything was fine after that. I really liked the fragrance of the shower gel/ shampoo provided.

It may be a bit of a distance to the center of Paris, close to the Peripherique but with the Metro it's hardly an issue.

By the way I have no idea why some reviews mentioned issues with the night porter, there was no surliness or anything of that sort. I even got smiles.

And as for the Metro rumble I can be a light sleeper but it didn't bother me at all.

All in all I would certainly consider staying here again.

I would just like to say how much it means to us when people take the time to write a review like this one. We work so hard at the hotel but there is so much to do and without reviews to let us know what is important I'm sure we would get it all wrong!

Please know that we read each one of these reviews and when we see something that needs to be fixed we fix it and when we see something that people like we ask ourselves how can we make it even better!

Thank you once again.

“FAB FAB FAB !!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

What a find !!
I was already excited when I discovered this hotel and booked it, but I was really one of the best hotel I have ever came across.

I absolutely adore the classical decore, which is getting more and more difficult to find. It's not at all like off-putting "bourgeois" style like Ritz, but just the right amout of old and new. Very gentle and feminine. I adore the old stove in the room! Madam Figaro Japon by the bed side, was fantastic ! I couldn't sleep, I wanted to read them all!
I normally get happy if I'm happy with the interior, but this hotel was so great.... The bed was the most comfy bed I have ever slept, and what a friendly staff they got ! Even the breakfast serving man and cleaners are so friendly! I enjoyed the chat with them...
The room was extra clean, I run B&B myself in UK, I know where to check to be fussy and mean, but it was spotless. I know how hard it is to keep up with this cleanliness. They must have a great cleaner with very high standard.

And breakfast cereals are very yummy... All organic product make you feel better.
Even the soaps in the room was organic, and it was deliciously flavoured and I loved it so much I had to take them home so that I can find where I can get some more of it. ( It was German, you can get imported...)

I went to opera bastille on the day one, but it was great to get there so easy from door step,
second day, I had to go to teh other side of Vancenne to see my friend, but it was easy and quick from Nation.
Day 3 I took Roissy bus from opera, one doesn't have to change from no8 line.
The area itself was so good, if I had more time, I should have enjoyed the wed market and park....

I found that this hotel is very child friendly. I reget I left all mine this time...
I am definately coming back with my children next time to appeciate this hotel and the area !!!
I really really didn't wnat to go home !!!!
I could live there quite happily.
I almost hesitated to leave the comment here, to keep this place secret .^ ^

Room Tip: I was in room 25 with lovely stove and david. I enjoed using the beautiful stairs. You will hear the...
