I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights in late November, and it was a very minimalist, no-frills hotel. The room although clean and tidy, was extremely small and we had to move some of the furniture around to make more room for ourselves.

Service was pretty average, and we were a little appalled that the hotel doesn't provide hot water to make tea/coffee in the room. Breakfast was blah, you can definitely get much better value and food in one of the many quaint Parisian cafes all around the city.

Overall, the hotel was located in a safe neighborhood, with very convenient access to the metro. That is definitely a plus. I would recommend this place for people just looking for a clean and nice room to stay. However, if you expect more out of your stay in Paris, I wouldn't recommend this as the first choice.

My husband and I went to Paris for 8 days and 7 nights. We stayed at this hotel and it was very nice. The room is so clean and they clean up the room every single day when we went out in the morning. We had the attached bathroom and we just love it. We requested a room opposite the street, but they changed it to facing the garden. it was lovely. very quiet. it was that comfortable that we can just stay in all day :D the decoration is just nice. it's near to grands boulevard station, very convenient to get to other places. and the neighborhood is safe and not that scary :) lots of shops nearby. supermarkets, pharmacy, lots of patisserie, gifts shop.

Definitely highly recommend this hotel. the service is superb. worth every penny we paid :D They speak english fluently. Definitely gonna stay here again if I go to Paris :D We had a lovely honeymoon :)

I happened upon this charming little hotel after literally months of searching for hotels in Paris. I chose the Monte Carlo for the great reviews, the cat theme running through the decor and the fact that this was the only hotel where the travellers' photos matched the professional photos quite closely. In real life it is as good as the other reviews suggest. All the staff were very friendly, it's one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in and our ensuite room facing the courtyard had character to it - it wasn't a generic international hotel room - plus it was larger than I expected. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the curtains really do cut out the light, which really helped me doze off. The only one minor downside was that there was no hook on which to perch the shower head, which meant that you had to either take a bath or crouch to take a shower. However, this was only a trifle and I'd have no reservations in making a reservation at the Monte Carlo again.

I stayed at Hotel Monte Carlo for three nights in May 2011. I booked a few months ahead of time, and was able to obtain a room with a bath on the second floor. The room was extremely clean, and the bed was very comfortable. It's in a nice neighborhood, and is safe even at 3AM. The room rate is a bargain, and there are no "surprises" at check-out time.

A major benefit of booking a room here is the proximity of the hotel to a metro station. I only used the room to sleep, but they do have a nice flat-screen TV with access to a few English-language stations. They also have free wi-fi service, if you bring your laptop (but leave it home and enjoy Paris!)

Finally, Paris is perhaps the most beautiful city in the world and the people are wonderful! Don't miss an opportunity to come here.
