“Rooms need renovating”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2011

This apartment hotel has so much potential to be the really good property I'm sure it once was. The location is great, the foyer looks good and then you get to the room! The smell was awful, an old mouldy carpet smell that no amount of fresh air or cologne spraying could mask. the rooms urgently need new carpets, painting and furniture. The layout of our room was great, upstairs bedroom, 2 toilets seperate to the bathroom, a small kitchen. The hotel also has a well equipped gym, a games room with a full sized pool table, books and piano. The central open courtyard gives the hotel entrance a light open welcoming feel. But the room was really awful and so disappointing.

“Foldable bed, kitchen and tranquility”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2010

Even we're in the middle of Paris, this appartment hotel features rooms that have a view either on the closed court or on a small side road. It's not noisy and you can sleep well.
The surprise when I entered the room is that I did not find the bed. I had to call the reception that told me that the bed is within the sofa. You had to pull out the sofa and the linens were already prepared in the sofa. A little bit weird as I prefer to sleep on a real bed, and they did not tell me when I checked in.
Sheets of painting on some parts of the room are falling, but otherwise, it's not the worst hotel I've had in Paris. There is a small kitchen in the room that is useful if you stay for several days. They have a PC with free internet connection in the lobby.

“Great place to stay with teenagers - ideal location for Paris city walks!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2010

We found Citadines Grands Boulevards through their own website. We were looking for a place large enough for four people and maybe a kitchenette. The description matched our needs. When arriving to the hotel, the staff was very friendly in welcoming us and through our stay they kept the same quality. The apartment was clean and roomy and we could make our own buffet breakfasts and evening snacks. We are surely coming back!
Location is ideal for walking in the City of Paris. The large department stores Lafaytte and Printemps are a couple of blocks away, Louvre is reachable after 15 minutes walk. We also recommend the Grevin Wax Museum ( i.e French Mme. Tussaud´s), which is just 200 meters from the hotel.

“PLEASE READ THIS!!! This is an awful hotel!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2010

This hotel was the most disappointing hotel I've ver stayed in! I travelled the first week of July with my 18year old daughter. Like other reviews stated, the lobby was fresh, air conditioned and clean - smoke free - the room was nothing like that. The pictures on the site must be taken in the one nice room in the place. We were originally put into a one bedroom suite that reaked of smoke(were supposed to be non-smoking), with a stupid staircase that you would never get a suitcase up, and a dirty bathroom. Complained and were moved the next night to a better layout, but still dirty bathroom, mold in the ceiling corner of the sink and ceiling of the shower, old, very dated, very much in need of a total overhaul. No housecleaning, which I knew beforehand, but didn't count on the dirty bathroom. No facecloths, and only one roll of toilet paper (we were there 6 nights). No air conditioning (30 degrees every day we were there), and VERY noisy. Couldn't leave our windows open it was so noisy - all night long. Staff were not helpful at all (one woman was sort of but only saw her occasionally). The language barrier was a huge problem, and I was told before hand that they spoke pretty good English. Very unorganized!!! In room safe that didn't work, and asked for instructions and got no response. The ONLY good thing about it was the location. Close to all shopping and walking distance to all attractions. 10 minutes from the Seine and Louvre, Notre Dame, etc. We literally stayed out all day so that we wouldn't have to go back to the room. REALLY BAD! Don't waste your money. Not cheap either $269.00 Canadian per night - more with the euro exchange. HATED THIS HOTEL!!!!! This hotel totally, negatively, affected our Paris experience!!!
