My family of 4 spent 5 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment from 28/11-2/12/09. The location is excellent for the following conveniences;
1.
Arriving at Charles de Gaulle airport, you can take the airport shuttle bus which will take you to Gare Montparnasse, a large inter-city train station where there are 72hrs self-storage facilities for all sizes luggage should you arrive early before you can check-in. The bus ride is about 40mins and cost one way 14.00 Euros. Round-trip 22.00 Euros. From 2 to 11 years old 7 Euros. If you are arriving from an international flight the bus stop is located at Air Terminal 1 exit 34 (Arrivals level). This train station is also where you take the SNCF trains for day trips to Versailles and Chartres. The apartment is a 5-8min walk from the station. My 9 year old daughter was able to pull her trolley bag for that distance without complaint and difficulty.
2.
The location of the apartment is also a 2 min walk to one of the entrances to the Montparnasse Bienvenue metro station which is a major intersection station with 4 metro lines, taking you to all major tourist spots and areas in the city. This station is also convenient if you are taking the Eurostar train to London as there is a metro line that takes you to Gare du Nord directly without having to change lines. If you are not familiar with using the metro in Paris, let me advise you that changing tracks is not just walking across the platform but it requires you to walk through different levels and flight of steps.
3.
Stepping out of the apartment, you can find good restaurants serving mostly Brittany cuisine like creperie and mussels. Monoprix, a good brand supermarket and department store is just 3 mins walk if you walk up rue Odessa away from the Montparnasse Bienvenue metro station. Galleries Lafayette and C&A are also located above the metro station. Every Wed and Sat, there is an open air market which sells cooked food like roast chicken and potatoes and fresh produce. We bought a dozen of fresh oysters to eat with salad in the apartment. the market is located just outside Edgar Quinet metro station, which is 2 min up rue Odessa.
from the apartment.

The best thing to have is a very good, with 100 years history, bakery shop just 3 doors away. It opens from 7am so you can buy freshly baked croissants (the best!), pastries, cakes and bread for breakfast.
The apartment is comfortably and tastefully furnished. The water runs and drains well in all the bathrooms with plenty of hot water from good shower heads. All machines are new and clean and in good working condition. There is plenty of storage space for your luggage and coats. Should you encounter any problem or are in need of more detergents or toilet rolls, the guest services is a phone call or an email away and they promptly respond. Sunday is the only day you can't get anyone. Then again all offices and stores are closed on Sundays in Paris. As the apartment is located in a happening area, you will get the noise of merry making late on Fri and Sat nights. Other days are pretty quiet except that you will hear delivery trucks around 6am in the morning, afterall restaurants are just below the apartments. I used it as my wake up call to my advantage so that we start the day early; wash up, eat breakfast, check emails, do laundry and out sight-seeing by 10am. It is really up to the individual. It was a disturbance that didn't bother me much. My daughters slept in the bedroom on the quiet(rear) side of the building. My husband and I slept in the room on the street side.
