I'll start with the bad points: After a reasonably comfortable 30 minute train ride to arcueil it started to go downhill. We were faced with a walk that took atleast 45 minutes with a heavy case up and down hills through a largely ghetto area to reach the hotel situated next to a very large and busy motorway. We would not have been able to find it without maps we printed oursleves from google maps of the streets surrounding the hotel. We arrived to find the only lift was out of order and a climb (with luggage) to our room on the 4th floor awaited us. On opening the door to the 4th floor we found darkness (we later realised that the hotel used trip switches which turn the lights off after a certain amount of time after you press the switch. WE WERE NOT TOLD THIS!) We had to use our mobile phone lights to find our room. The room was a reasonable size, however, and fairly clean. Towels and bedding we're basic. I must mention that during our time at the hotel we didn't feel particularly safe due to mysterious noisees outside our door on the fist night.
All that aside we had a very enjoyable holiday. Paris was amazing and it was reasonably easy to get into paris from the hotel by bus to the station then by train to the city centre (however we weren't allowed on the last bus back to the hotel on the 2nd night and had to walk back through quite a rough area, quite late at night). The only thing that puta dampenner on the trip was returning to this awful hotel after a such a nice day out in Paris. Stars arcueil - NOT TO BE RECOMMENDED!!
