“Efficient space, no service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2010

I used the 2 room apartment for 4 nights and found it clean and adequately spaced. Wifi is good and free. For hot summer nights, no fan is provided and because of the location on a noisy main street, opening windows is impossible. Service is practically non-existent. A broken curtain rail was not repaired. The sofabed was not restored to sofa mode. The location is conveniently close to a metro station, and parking in the nearby public parking is affordable at Euro 10 per day. Breakfast service is poor value for the cost. The nearby Hippo restaurant is good, and there are more restaurants across the street. The metro journey downtown takes 20 minutes.

“Noisy, tiny, not clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2010

As around the fair's venue (GRANDE HALLE DE LA VILLETTE - PARIS) hotel rooms were fully booked, we chose this as a last option.
It is an apartmenthotel with very low service - which makes it cheaper.
Reception was friendly and helpful.

Hotel and room are simple and cheap furnitured.
Apartment consisted of two rooms: one living room with a kitchenette, small sofa and a very small TV.
Bedroom was tiny, not clean with a very small bed and very noisy. Although I was on 6th floor, I could hear the Metro!
Bathroom was not a room, rather a closet, but okay.

Breakfast was in a small room with lousy offer - as hotel offer is not designed for business travellers but young people that cook themselves in the apartment's kitchenette.

--> Never again, but for a last-minute-boking a reasonable solution.

“Large room, decent breakfast and 300 feet from the metro!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 April 2009

I took students to Europe with Explorica and we spent the first few nights here. The Metro and bus (Line 7, Porte de la Villette), are less than 300 feet away which made it easy for my students from Maui to deal with the cold weather and rendered the whole of Paris easily accessible. The Cite des Sciences made for a VERY quiet neighbor, and the staff was pleasant at worst. The rooms were very spacious, given what one usually encounters in European hotels and lastly, the continental breakfast was ample and got everyone off on the right foot each morning in a pleasant dining area. There is no restaurant on property, but there is a Hippopotamus adjacent to the hotel.

DO NOT expect beauty and elegance, but DO expect a good night's sleep, easy access to Paris, a good breakfast and room enough to spread out your stuff and write in your journal... And, for an extra fee, the kitchette can be unlocked in each room...

Stayed here with a tour group. Wonderful location close to public transporation. 5 miles from the Eiffel Tower. Extremely friendly staff and oversized rooms.

“never again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2007

I am still there as I am writing. Arriving here the receptionist was quite rude. I spoke for my husband in french to ask for internet, she gave him his password and he kindly said merci, to what she said in french: ah alors vous savez parler francais maintenant?! (so you can speak french now!).
She was very blunt and unwelcoming during check-in. I asked for a room away from the street as we have a baby and was refused as they are fully booked (however I we hardly come across other guests ). Instead of having a cot for our baby they had prepared the sofa bed for her! An extremely noisy old springy sofa bed unsuitable for either adults or children. After folding it back we realised that the top part of the sofa was missing, we complained, they didn't do anything so as I am writing now I am sitting on spring mattress folded in a metal frame. We finally got a cot. On the first day they didn't do the room as supposed. Yesterday I had put the note "do not disturb on the door" and the cleaning lady rang at 11 asking: "so we don't do the room?" when I said we'd go in an hour she was just standing there looking annoyed so I said: is it going to be too late? and she just stood there so i just told her to leave it. They did the room in the end. The room is grey of dirt, everywhere (walls, floors...), the toilet smells of piss. There are holes in walls and shelves falling apart, burnt microwave, a dishwasher that makes a hell of a noise but doesn't wash, and at the moment there are road works outside the window. (it's 8am). I feel like I've come off a boat of illegal immigrants hiding somewhere dodgy in Paris.
