“Hotel Not Bad”

Would i stay here again, no!
The hotel was not bad, right next to Metro station, we drove to this hotel, and just around the corner there is, what i can only call refugee settlement, very very yong prostitutes which put us off before we even parked outside. The receptionist was of average politeness. the room was cleanish, but had a musty not clean feel (hard to explain).
WE checked in toured central Paris and arrived back about 9pm, we parked out back in a car park and had a very doggy walk past a macdonalds with what i can only explain as the darker side of Paris. we ate in a restaurant across the road which was average again. The area just did not feel safe to me, i would not stay here again, pay a little more money and stary in central Paris we stayed in an area called es colai di millatre last time and it was lovely. oh yer one more thing, it was summer and was very hot outside no air con, no fan just and trust me if you open the window expect loud noise all night. the building next door i think is a council (welfare) estate.. scarey!

“Neither too good, nor too bad!”

We stayed in a triple room in this hotel for 3 nights and found it neither too bad nor too good. It is quite close to the Place de la Vilette metro and so, is well-connected to the important parts of Paris. The room had a partially equipped kitchen and quite comfortable beds. The internet connection was pretty decent too.. The WC and shower were in two separate rooms which was actually convenient for us. However, the WC didn't have proper ventilation, which was a serious drawback. The staff spoke English fluently and were friendly. Didn't try the breakfast, so I have no opinion about it. Overall, a good place to stay if you go there only to sleep.. (you have so much to do all over Paris, anyway!)

“Clean and friendly”

Stayed for a week in May 2011. Hotel is located on a busy street in the 19th Arr. so if you want to leave your window open you should expect to hear the traffic and train. My room was a good size with a desk, queen bed, kitchenette, and small dining table. Everything in the room was very clean, and the housekeeping staff kept my room spotless the entire trip. Small closet with four good-sized shelves and a safe, so there was plenty of room to unpack and put all my clothes away. There were five spare outlets around the room, so I had no problems plugging in all my different chargers and laptop. There was soap, shampoo, and plenty of clean towels provided every day. The kitchenette was clean and came equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, cooktop, sink and drainer, dishes and utensils. I found the desk staff to be helpful and friendly, and they spoke English when I explained how poor my French was. This isn't a luxury hotel, but it was clean, safe, and comfortable.

“District 19 - bad rep”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2011

This district has a pretty bad reputation. I admit, I was spooked when I first arrived, but felt safe afterwards once I got to know the area. I would agree with other reviewers not to stay out too late after dark. I would compare the atmosphere like Hollywood but not as bad. There are alot of shady characters hanging around, but I think they are harmless. The hotel next door, Forest Hill has security posted in the front door. I booked this hotel for 72 euros for 5 nights on the citizen website. The main reason for booking this place because it was so close to the train station - less than 5min walk. And for such along stay, I wanted a small kitchenette. The room size was big, comfy beds, small couch, dinning table, tv, and wifi. To my surprise, they had landry facilities. There are a few (5 or 6) good resteraunts across the street and a grocery store (next to the Japanese Restaurant). I recommend the Japanese/Korean resteraunt (I forgot the name). There is road construction going on right now across the street which makes it noisy. Just behind the hotel, the Parc De La Villette - beautiful area. It has the science center, concert hall, and kid's play area. Also, the neighborhood is very nice. So its weird, front of the hotel is a little spooky at night, and behind the hotel is a beautiful park in the day. I recommend this hotel, but I dont recommend the area to everyone - young folks and couples is ok.

“Very good place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 March 2011

I am happy I have not read the previous review.. because my experience was really great. Close to the metro (several entrances, one of them just in the yeard). 10 minutes by metro from the city centre. Very clean room, with well-equipped kitchenette and also toiletteries.
Supermarket ("Monoprix") is 10 minutes walking from the property.
Really huge underground parkign is in the yeard, close to the metro entrance (metro - Line 7, Porte de la Vilette)
I cannot remember any single sign of danger in that area. I liked it a lot.
Though there were two of us, we were given a 2-bedroom apartment, and of course we did not use the second room. But for a small company it would be really great.
The staff was very helpful and spoke perfect English which one can seldom find in Paris.
WiFi in the room was working just perfectly!!!
I will definitely recommend this place to my friends.
