It depends on what you are looking for, but if you want a nice small hotel in Paris, sufficiently well-located, close to the Metro and to some very nice restaurants, in a nice Parisian square full of typical shops like bakeries, cheeseries, croissanteries and such... This is a good place to be. Not everything's perfect, though: the breakfast is very basic and the breakfast room small, so sometimes it gets crowded, the rooms are not exactly big and the decor is nothing special (they just renovated from a more typical albeit older decoration which in fact I prefered...), but it's a good choice if you are not looking for something fancy and prefer to spend your money in fine dining and French wines...

My partner and I stayed at Hotel Carladez in August 2011. We were very pleased with the price and the location of the hotel - within 5 min walk to a Metro line and we walked to the Eiffel Tower in about 25 mins. The room was small but a perfectly adequate size for 2 people, and was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English. We would definitely stay here again, and thought it was good value for money (in Paris terms!).

3 weeks before I arrived I sent a e-mail to the hotel and asked for a quiet room at the top floor. I got an answer and was told that all the rooms at the hotel were quiet. The noise from the traffic beside the hotel was terrible. I could not sleep with windows open. The mattress in the bed was too hard. It was difficult to get a goodnight sleep. Good repainted bathroom. Friendly staff which hardly speak english. Will I ever come back? Never. My advice to you if you are a light sleeper. Stay away from this hotel.

We found this hotel on Trip Advisor and we are very happy to say we loved our stay there. We wanted to stay out the city centre on a good metro line and be in a local communtiy. This area lived up to everything we wanted. Local markets, good food shopping and lovely loval parks. The metro line was only about 200 mtrs away. Hotel was okay, would not bother with the breakfast though. Our room was on the third floor and was fine. We liked that this was only a small hotel and were pleased with the cleanleness and the room. We would stay there again.
