I really have nothing bad and everything good to say about my experience with this hostel. First off, let me say that I have stayed in a couple of hostels and this is the only one I have reviewed. It is exclusively because I feel that the staff did an excellent job and I attribute most of my enjoyment to my stay in paris to my experience with this hostel and it's staff. It's unfortunate what happened to stormcloud, but my interactions with the hostel and the people who work here absolutely perfect. Perhaps it is because I did not go during the summer but I can't imagine them being bad at any time of the year. They were very good english speakers and gave great directions and advice on what to do and see in paris. Having a kitchen, tv, and fast wifi was also really great as well. Being a smoker, there was obviously no place to smoke in the apartment so i'm gonna use the short rides down as an excuse to deduct 1 point from fitness center (do hostels have this?) only because i don't like claiming perfection, but in all honesty that word probably best describes this hostel.

Okay, I think going to a cafe and waiting to be picked up is kind of weird. However, I was stunned when I was taken to 14th floor. The view was great, the fellas were friendly. I got to know nice people in one night. My bed was next to the window and I could see the Eiffel Tower easily. It was worth of paying 24 euros for that view. The Montparnasse area was really nice with cafes and theaters. I'd stay here again.

oh my goodness, what to say, not the sort to usually write negative reviews but really felt I had to say something. a beautiful apartment with everything in place for a good experience. let down completely by appalling management which messed around guests, double booked and suggested sharing sofa beds with total strangers for a 'discounted rate' as a solution to their double booking.

This all in addition to hostel staff who burst into the room between 1am-3am every night without fail to either wake everyone up, ruin the pre-drinking vibes or argue appallingly with guests they had messed over with various levels of double booking. I have honestly never heard or witnessed a worse example of customer care then this and was pretty shocked at the unprovoked abuse being thrown at a lone American traveller 'are you American? because you Americans think the world owes you something, you should be grateful you have a roof over your head' this is all after they had messed up her stay with a double booking. all in all, pretty shocked. perhaps if there hadn't been so much drama in my room at this time the stay would have been more positive. I would recommend this as a good party hostel where you enjoy surreal experiences but don't expect any professionalism from the staff.

So this will be a quick review but I had to mention that my time at Lucky Youth was a great experience. Despite some confusion regarding check AND losing my key both hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. I had a 2 hour long conversation with them regarding society, the country, etc. The room was reminiscent of a fun, friendly & clean college dorm. The people that I met while there were just as friendly. Whether traveling on your own or with a few friends I highly recommend this place.
