“Wonderful location and great view from the room.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

This was a great surprise in Paris. The entrance is not very appealing and the website neither. But as it had a good price for New Year’s Eve I decide to book it. The check in was very stylish, on chairs and desks and a very attentive and fast service. The chance someone help you with your bags as your car stops in front of the hotel, I believe, is very low. I couldn’t even open and close the door carrying my bags.
The first thing was the view from my window. As I opened I met the Obelisque at Place Vendome. Only a suite guest at Ritz could have that wonderful view. There are rooms with street view instead, but that is a beautiful street.
The bed was hard and there was only one pillow per person (hard and with a pillowcase smaller than the pillow) and the linens were standard size. Even in a double room they left only one slipper, one robe and one soap. And don’t replace. The room decor was not the most charming but overall there was some style, including a high ceiling and a beautiful chandelier besides it was spacious (including cabinet space), specially comparing to other Parisian hotels. The bathroom was equally large and the shower was very enjoyable. One bad thing was the curtain, very narrow did not block the light in the corners.
The breakfast room is very crowded and tumultuous at certain times but the staff is attentive and friendly. There was not a huge selection of choices for eating, but the breads, cheeses and eggs were delicious.
The only problem is the WIFI - only works in the lobby.

“Overpriced breakfast and wooden floors”

I stayed here for one night on a business trip. I was informed at check-in that the room booked was the smallest in the hotel and that I could upgrade for an extra 40 Euros. I declined but they still provided me with a better room in the refurbished wing. I’ll never be sure if they were trying it on or if they were actually quite nice to me.
The room was lovely with an excellent bathroom – one of the best – with separate drench shower and lovely toiletries. The decor was lovely and the bed comfortable. The floors are not carpeted but are some form of oak type flooring with rugs. This becomes a problem when your neighbour comes into their room in high heels – at 1130 at night and then proceeds to clomp around for a considerable time. It’s a pity she didn’t find the complimentary slippers in the bathroom and it’s a pity that their interior designer didn’t think about this aspect.
I have my doubts about the validity of the fire exit signs in the corridors. The signage is wrapped around emergency light units which are too small for the signs themselves. In some areas you have to stand under the sign to see which direction to go in to reach the fire exit. It would be interesting to know if the hotel has been inspected since this wing was refurbished.
Breakfast is what really lets the hotel down. It was a buffet with a reasonable choice but certainly not good enough for what is charged if it is not included in the room price. Thankfully I was on a B&B rate but I was shocked to realise that if I wanted a boiled egg there would be an additional 5 Euro charge, 8 Euros for fried eggs.
Overall I’m rating the hotel as average because of the noise late at night and the overpriced breakfast. Without these issues, it would be Very Good to Excellent.

“Don't be put off by the silly hotel name”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Located in the street between Place Vendome and the Louvre's Tuilleries gardens and minutes from the metro station, this place is my discovery of the year! If you can get a good discounted price compared to the asking rack rate (as I can via my employer) this place is a steal when compared to the 5-star hotels nearby. The rooms are large and comfortable. While service is patchy (the concierge ignored me for a full 10 minutes while I stood in front of him) and breakfast is chaotic and frankly not worth it, this hotel ticks all the other boxes for a hotel of this quality in the centre of Paris. Check the hotel's location on a map... It is minutes from the Louvre and many other tourist attractions, cafes and shops nearby. The Champs-Élysées is an easy15 minutes walk away. The hotel oozes Parisian charm and is recommended. It is owned by the Spanish NH hotel chain and is surprisingly good value, although admittedly, it has a silly name which nearly put me off from the start. I think they now refer to it as the Hotel Lotti and have dropped the "Jolly" from the Jolly Hotel Lotti. The only bad point was the small cockroach I saw climbing over the overcooked bacon in the bain marie (food warmer) during the breakfast rush. Avoid breakfast any you will be happy!

Room Tip: The deluxe Room 309 had good views but the apartments across the street can also see in. I have sta...

The staff are helpful and courteous. Great location. Walking distance to Louvre, Placé Vendomé, Tuleries and many others. Room was comfortable and very clean. It was also very quiet. Breakfast Buffet was very good but was charged as an extra not included in the room rate and that was expensive - 28EUR! No Internet in room, to expensive.

“Christmas Week Delight in Paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

My husband and I arrived on Christmas Day in Paris with his sister and her husband. We spent quite a bit of time pouring over reviews as to which hotel to book, and the Hotel Lotti did not disappoint. The location was terrific with easy walking distance to the Tullaries, metro station, Christmas markets along the Champs Elysses, the arc de triumph, the opera house, wonderful restaurants, and some of the best (and most expensive) shopping in the area. The staff and their service was exceptional. They were very helpful in giving restaurant recommendations, directions, getting a taxi (even running down the street in the rain to hail us a cab), printing out boarding passes, and so much more! They spoke various languages besides French and seemed to be keyed into customer satisfaction. The rooms were large and well-appointed with flat screen tv, desk with lots of different kind of outlet plugs, robe and slippers, large shower, and king size bed. The mini bar and room service is expensive, but a lot of things in Paris are very expensive so we found some great little boulangeries and markets to get our cokes for $1.60 euro rather than $7 euro in the room. Staying at the hotel was a big splurge in price, but worth it. We were comfortable and indulged a bit, but that's what vacations are for, aren't they? I highly recommend this hotel for that special trip to enjoy the city of lights.
