good location, lots of cafe's nearby. just a 5 minute walk to teh louvre. the shower's were tiny. you couldn't move without hitting a wall. bathroom was in a complete separate room. good room for the money, although don't expect much out of it except a bed and a sink.

I accompanied my wife, who had a medical conference for a few days. Lucky me... but not lucky her, because I chose the hotel! The location was good, and the price was OK, but nothing good after that. The room was small and ugly... badly planned, with dirty blankets and bedcovers. Limited, and dirty, hanging space for any decent clothes. There were rude notices shouting "no food and drink in the rooms"... so no mini-bar, or even kettle, to bother looking for. You had to pay for your whole stay before you even got to see your room. I guess they were worried that people would change their minds. My wife wanted to!! The crowning glory were the bedbugs, who had found a taste for us by the last couple of nights. We booked through Venere, but they decided not to publish our review on their website. I wonder why?!

The hotel was "spartan" at best. There's no TV and the staff is not very helpful. They did give us a fan since there is no AC. The floor was slanted so everytime I walked around the bed I felt like I was walking downhill. The is also no elevator so we lugged our siutcases up four flights.
The staff will not let you take coffee or food into the rooms. We went to Starbucks and the manager stopped us at the door and said no food or drink in the room!
It was a dreary setting, but on the positive, it is very near the Louvre and Chinatown, which has good food that is reasonably priced. I would not stay there again because it is too dark, dank and bleak. Plus it is not exactly cheap.
A couple of the staff were helpful, but for the most part, they act like you are in the way.

We have been traveling yearly to Paris for a one week vacation. We have stayed at this hotel at least 6 times and have been there in different months. We have never been disappointed. It is important to remember the age of the building. You can have a room with your own shower and bath or you can use the bath and bathroom on the various floors. We have done both. True, the shower stall is small but it is all for fun, you are not renting the shower, get in, get out and enjoy Paris! You can have a room with a window,I believe all do except for one on the very top floor, which has a skylight. We have had our choice of room every year we go there.

It is so cerntal and so perfect, my trip to Paris would not be complete without staying at this hotel. We would not even look further.
