My husband and I stayed at the Art Hotel for two nights in late September. We chose the hotel because of it's proximity to the Gare Du Nord station and it took approx 7 mins to walk from the station to the hotel so we felt the location was good. The area around the station is fairly dodgy; drunks, gangs, beggars etc, but where the hotel is, it's quiet and not troubled by any 'anti-social behaviour'. The rooms are typically Parisien; small and servicable, but the beds were comfy and the bathroom was clean and with a good compliments tray of shower gels, caps, toothbrush and toothpaste, cotton wool, cotton buds all sterile wrapped. We were on the 6th floor and slept soundly with the windows open; not troubled by noise at all. The breakfast was obviously continental and buffet style, so you could eat and drink as much as you wanted and it wasn't bad at all. The breakfast room was small, but it lacked nothing so it was perfectly acceptable. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and kept our luggage on the day we checked out so we could squeeze in some final hours of sightseeing without tramping through the city with cases in tow. All in all, it does what is says on the tin, and the price isn't bad either. The location is great for getting about and the staff were great. Not a bad little gaff at all.
