“My 2nd time at the hotel, friendly staff. Some rooms dated but overall OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 April 2010

A good impression arriving at the hotel, and the rooms I have stayed in have been adequate . The amenities of the bathrooms I experienced on my two visits were in need of decoration. Overall the hotel is fine if you do not want modern standards. Sheets rather than duvets, free Wifi and breakfast included in the price which is a real winner.

Staff were friendly and the location to the tube and local shops is fine. Staying for aone or two nights is OK, any longer and i would advise staying elsewhere.

“Need to sort out the basics”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2009

For me, there are a couple of essential basic things one should expect ALL hotels to deliver, irrespective of their price point.

1. A comfortable bed and decent night's sleep

2. A working shower

Everything else (1000 satellite TV channels, luxury soap, fancy shaving mirrors, etc) are just unnecessary nice-to-haves in my opinion.

I know that for Paris the Residence Richemont would probably be considered a budget hotel, however this does not excuse its total failure to provide adequate service in these two basic areas.

Firstly, we booked a "King size" bed, which turned out to be two hard foam beds pushed together. When will hoteliers learn that these are not the same thing. Also, the AC did not work so it was hot an uncomfortable.

Secondly the shower was actually pretty dangerous. Once you turned the taps on the pressure of the hot and cold water would vary wildly so one minute the shower was freezing cold and the next minute it was scolding hot! Needless to say it was a very unpleasant experience. I reported the problem to the receptionist who said he'd "get a technician to look at it" but didn't even ask what room I was in (I had to volunteer the information). Needless to say it did not get fixed.

On the plus side the breakfast served in the hotel was good and the neighbourhood was quiet (although not especially pretty).

“Clean, nice good location”

Clean, nice good location

I booked this hotel after a couple of days surfing online. We spent 5 days in Paris and we were very satisfied with the accommodation. The room was clean, enough for a family (3 persons) and the price was acceptable. We took the breakfast too at the hotel and it was an excellent idea, good food and we didn’t spent time in the morning to find a restaurant. Best tip for this trip in Paris was to buy Navigo Decouvert (Monday to Sunday ) – metro pass .Other tips : museum pass and private shuttle form CDG Airport to the hotel (55 euro one way)

“friendly, clean, quiet”

It took us some time to find the hotel since the name of the hotel is hidden behind a tree. Once arrived the welcome was very friendly. The hotel has a modern style. The people are friendly whithout a lot of interaction but after all: you just need a place to stay when visiting paris. Rooms are rather small but very ok. Everything you need and value for money. The breakfast was simple, but good. We missed some "charcuterie". Parking is perfect and one of the very few in Paris offering this at this price!. Metro is nearby. Neighbourhood very quiet, we unfortunately did not have time to explore the area known as china town. I'm sure the area has some hidden treasures as well. For people that need a very correct, not too expensive hotel parking to visit Paris: go for it, you won't be dissappointed

“Good value but the "superior" label is misleading”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2009

We stayed here for 2 nights in mid-August and having relied on TripAdvisor reviews in the first place, thought it only fair to leave a review for anyone else planning a visit to this place.

Overall we'd recommend this hotel if you're looking for a decent good value hotel in Paris, and don't mind travelling a little longer on the Metro to get around. However if you're prepared to pay a bit more you'd probably get something nearer to central Paris, and probably with a similar or slightly bigger room. We would not visit this hotel again. Here are the pros and cons:

Positives:
1. Great value; we paid €148 for 2 nights, about £125)
2. Good location; Metro line 14 from Olympiade station is very quick and most places required 1 changeover. The station is less than a 5 minute walk away.
3. Quiet area; residential area, nice and quiet at night, a couple of streets away from the main road.
4. Comfortable beds; comfortable mattresses and pillows.
5. Great service; staff very helpful and polite
6. Nice features; reasonable minibar, working AC and very clean throughout hotel

Negatives:
1. The "Double Superior" room label is misleading; the room's smaller than a standard room at a budget hotel in the UK. The photos on the hotel web site of the "Double Superior" must be of the largest such room that they have. We requested a change of room from the shoe box we were initially allocated and ended up with a larger room which had 2 single beds instead of a double.
2. The rooms we had was very dark and poorly lit, 2 lamps either side of the bed and 1 large lamp at the other end of the room. Had to take the lamp shade off the larger lamp to try and brighten the place up a bit.
