Small, bare rooms.Very clean although a bit decrepit. Friendly staff. Small but efficient elevator. No restaurant, but many nearby (and a simple breakfast is provided in room on a tray for 9 Euros pp). French TV only. Very close to Metro station. Warm (but not hot) water in shower. No problem with noise. Radiators in room can be controlled manually. OK for a few nights but I would hope to find a hotel with at least a bit of charm next time. This is one of the chain of Jardin De Paris hotels, and it certainly has no Jardin! Note the number of the hotel in the street because it has no visible name above the door.

I should have listened to previous reviewers. We went to check in and were told that the people who had our rooms had gotten sick and couldn’t move, so our reservations weren’t any good. Coincidentally that was for BOTH rooms we had booked. I couldn’t believe the concierge could lie to our faces like that. Obviously this hotel has a pattern of overbooking.

The location is great, but we ended up at another place a little further from the intersection of Saint Germain and Rue de Rennes and were happy because it was a lot quieter, and we could still walk to the action.

Me and my friend booked this hotel for two nights and really enjoyed it! The Hotel is nice, our room was at the 6th floor of 7, so we had the balcony directly on the little street were it is located, right opposite to the louis vuitton boutique! The room was quite small accordingly to the Parisien and European standards but very clean, with nice furniture and a functional bathroom with a bath/shower and hairdryer. The most aspect to considerate is the absolutly amazing location, totally central and in one of the best area of Paris; in fact Saint-Germain is full of bars, restaurants, top designer boutiques and shops, it is very quite and safe, even if you come back late night. The staff was helpful and could speak english correctly, service was right and overall it was a very good staying!
Highly recommended if you want nice service and low budget rates!

This is by far the worst experience I ever had at a hotel. And being French (formerly living in Paris), I am worried about the effect of this kind of experience on foreign tourists. That's French hospitality at its worst.

The service was really bad. The staff was very rude, and outright lying at some point.

Because I had meetings on the very morning I arrived in Paris, I contacted them beforehand to make sure that all was OK. On the phone, they told me not to worry.

Yet, on the day I arrived, they first denied I had made a reservation (I booked my room through a travel agency and I had the voucher in hand). Then they said they did not have any room, and offered to host me in another hotel. When I asked them to tell me the rates at the other place, they refused to do so. The other hotel was located far from Saint Germain, and I had specifically chosen this neighborhood because I had a series of business meetings in the area.

When I refused their offer and asked to talk to the manager, again they refused. Because I needed to be at a meeting, I needed to find a solution quickly so they offered to host me in a room they had just finished to renovating. I accepted, out of fatigue - and I know I shouldn't have.

I could smell the fresh paint all night long, but worse, the "renovation" they speak of on their website is just that - fresh painting. The rooms are really unimpressive given how much they charge.

The worse was yet to come: the room was on the 2nd floor, just above their bar, and it was hell all night long! Staying in this room was like sitting just by a subwoofer - I could hear and feel every sound of the bad and loud music they were playing downstairs. But of course, they had no other room available.

The next day, I asked for a room change, and after yelling, I got it. I should have left the hotel altogether, but I was too tired.

That evening, I asked the concierge for a cab the next day (the phone was not connected in my room). He answered that hotels in Paris don't offer this service and that it was too late to get a cab. I have lived in Paris for over 10 years, and here was someone pretending that hotels don't call cabs in Paris! I gave him the phone number of a cab company, and swore to him I would post a write-up of my stay on TripAdvisor.

I was just blown off by so much disrespect for their customers. I strongly advise anyone looking at this hotel to look elsewhere.
