I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Walked in the room and all you could smell is the rising damp. Stayed away all day until time to sleep. Room was cleaned as much as it could be and had clean sheets, which was only the good thing about the room.

Stayed for one night with friends and couldnt wait to leave in the morning. Everything about the hotel is awful as is the area it is in. Definately one to miss!!!!!

Stayed here with a friend - 2 girls, at night the area is definitely a little sketch, we would powerwalk from the Gare du Nord back to the hotel.

Bedspread had what looked like a hole left from a cigarette burn. Staff at reception were extremely unhelpful. We came down to use the internet on the computer to send a quick email home on the one they have available in the lobby area (you pay for this!) and the guy didn't want to turn on the computer for us. I had to ask repeatedly if this was a hard thing for him to do (in French) until he finally relented, took our money, and turned the computer on.

Also heard him call an Asian couple a very nasty name when they checked in. They didn't understand French, but I do. Very belligerent staff.

Also, they messed up the dates we had booked and I had to go through a whole song and dance, almost getting angry with the dude in order to get our room on the date we had actually booked it. His excuse was the hotel was not "computerized" so they messed up the dates.

Recommendation is only for the location. Otherwise, not so great a place to stay, unless you like staff that look like they hate their jobs and would rather not be there or help you.

.. what a disappointment. Laterooms - a site I usually find dependable - seemed to rate this highly so I recommended it to my sisters for a family break to celebrate an 18th birthday party and for a girly get together. 5 women ranging from 18 to 50s...
This hotel is rotten. It stinks and is in DIRE need of upgrading. It could have so spoiled our break but thankfully the weather was great and we were out all the time. Including champagne under the eiffel tower at midnight. Twice.
Area is ok - we were comfortable having cocktails in a local bar - all women - at 1am having just returned from town. Shops and stations were close. It is not too touristy an arrondissement but hey thats fine.
We eschewed breakfast having seen the state of the place. However staff kindly allowed us to store our picnic gear in their fridge.
