“Parisian Chic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

Was lucky enough to stay at this hotel for business and to be honest was not expecting such a luxurious 1 night stay. The hotel is classic French regency decor which some might find a bit old school if you don't appreciate that sort of thing; but it is lovey and sumptuous.

I was upgraded to one of their suits which was like a mini apartment and very comfortable and stylish. The highlight for me was the Hermes toiletries.

Breakfast is the only meal I had at the hotel and it was a very fancy affair. Classical music played gently in teh background while I looked through the limited but more than adequate menu. I settled on scrambled eggs and pancakes and my goodness those were the creamiest eggs I have ever.

The service is exactly what you woudl expect from a hotel of this quality: attentive and discreet. A very wonderful hotel!

“Classy and comfortable with outstanding service”

The hotel is nestled in a quiet and clean neighborhood. Yet it is conveniently located near high-end boutiques on Avenue Montaigne and a Metro station. The rooms are elegantly decorated, well maintained and are comfortable. Some of these have been renovated and from what we experienced, when they have, contain separate bath and shower facilities, which we preferred. What makes this establishment stand out is the staff...they are warm and helpful. Our every request, from tickets, dinner reservations, information, was met with enthusiasm and genuine helpfulness...we enjoyed wonderful dinners thanks to their recommendations and assistance to get reservations. They made us feel most welcome and like we were in a home away from home. Kudos to the staff for a job well done!

“Perfect location to see Paris”

The hotel was beautiful with fantastic service. we stayed for two nights and had an adequate breakfast included. The location of the hotel was perfect, less than 10 mins to the river. the concierge was very helpful, got us tickets for the bateau mouche and help us with restaurant ideas. The décor in the hotel was luxurious, marble staircase and stunning antiques all over the hotel. we would definitely go again, added to the wonder of our first anniversary.

“very classy style”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

My husband and I stayed in the San Regis for 3 nights. Normally when we are in Paris we stay in the 1st quartier, but now, for we didn't take the kids, I thought it would be nice to try another quartier and stay in another hotel.
Normally I never go to the Champs Elysees (too busy with all these tourists ;), I prefer the streets like rue st. Honoré, and the shops around the La Madeleine, but this time I had to visit the newly opened Abercrombie & Fitch, and luckily this store was just around the corner. I went there really early friday-morning and there was no line, so that was great.
We also went to see a movie which was nice because the cinema was so close to the hotel, just a short walk. There are also quite a few good (lunch)restaurants near by.
We liked the hotel, it was good, we loved the classy style, it was a typical french atmosphere, (the staff started to talk in French everytime we bumped into them but finally we always ended up in English), it was a little old-fashioned but in a way we liked that. This way we really felt we were in Paris!
I loved the Hermes toiletries, the furniture, and the place where breakfast was served.
I didn't like that the room was a bit noisy, and our view was a bit sad so I had to close the curtains, and I felt sorry for the waiter who had to wear some really ugly costume, he was very nice and polite but he looked as if he had just jumped out of some very old movie.
But in other ways we liked it (it felt as if we were playing a role in that same old movie ;), and although I think we'd recommend it to friends who are looking for a very classy old-fashioned French-style hotel, I'm not sure if we'll go back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view at the street!

“Prententious, Over-Priced, Out-dated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

Following a glacial welcome, we were escorted wordlessly to a small room where it was apparent that no one had stayed for a while, because it smelled musty, the blanket in the closet was ancient, and it lacked such essentials as a luggage rack. If we appreciated the Hermes toiletries in the bath, it was surprising that there no other amenities--make-up removing pads, Q-tips, shoe-shine gear, etc. in a room that cost nearly $900 a night. The internet connection was balky and slow, but the worst feature of this room was that it was very noisy--the windows facing the street were not double-glazed, and when the people next door returned, they flipped on their television and it was very, very loud. All told this is a grandmotherly and pretentious hotel that overplays its location near the Avenue Montaigne by charging absurd rates. I'd much rather stay in a real luxury hotel than this faded, sour place.
