We booked this hotel off the net and after doing so started to look at the reviews provided by others. This is the second time we have looked at hotel reviews after booking a hotel.

Once again all the reviews were bad and no one had anything good to say about the hotel so we went to Paris thinking we are going to a very small, noisy, badly maintained with no showering facility hotel.

When we got to the hotel we found it had a very nice foyer with a reception, lounge area and breakfast area all neet and clean. We check in and went to our room. The room was clean, spacious and had a shower. All the things the bloggs had said it did not have. There was little to no traffic noise unless you opened the windows which is what you would expect in the middle of Paris.

As usual the reviews were all wrong and we have no idea why we even read them as they only seem to be for whingers expecting everything for nothing.

We will go back to to this hotel, if in paris again as it was in a perfect location, clean and had everything needed for a perfect stay in beautiful paris.

The staff were also very helpful and nothing was a problem.

Basically we are sick of the whingers and if all they want to do is complain and run everything down them maybe they should stop traveling and stay at home.

Brilliant location just seconds from the Louvre, main bus and metro links and shops and cafes etc. Continental breakfast good. Listed as having aircon in the rooms but we visited in March and boiled at night at night due to lack of aircon, and not wanting to leave windows open as they opened really wide, which was lovely in the day, but may have been security risk while we were sleeping. Free safe in room. No full length mirror in room which may be an issue for some. Staff friendly and spoke good English.

Location was great as very central and within walking distance of most sights. Also well placed if using 'hop on hop off bus' tours as the stop was very close to the Louvre. The room was clean and comfortable and also had a safe at no extra cost which was very easy to use.. Another bonus for Paris was that there were complimentary tea and coffee facilities. The continental breakfast choice was quite good although breakfast area was very small with only 4 tables. Staff were very friendly. Only downside was that being at front of hotel the rooms you did get a bit of noise from the street below. I will definitely use this hotel again as it was really good value.

It was so-so. If I had paid as much for a hotel in the US as I did for this one, I would have been really upset, but in Paris $300 a night for three people appears to be on low side. Thus, for an upgraded Motel 6, it wasn't bad. We were provided shampoo and soap but no conditioner or lotion. When I booked the this place the description noted we would be provided wireless but when the code we were provided only lasted two of the three days we stayed, the front desk told me that it seems we used up our allotted minutes. Unlike my understanding of French hotels, this place provided no form of food for breakfast--unless you paid around $20 a person. While they did provide coffee/tea in our room, the coffee was instant and the tea was Lipton. The room was not dirty but it wasn't super clean, either. The beds were small and the mattresses were exceptionally firm. While it was "near" the Louvre, that "near" was about five blocks away. The staff spoke enough English to answer questions we had and were not rude. In summary, it could have been much worse, but I was hoping it would have been better.
