Paris is very expensive, so finding a hotel that is clean and decent was my main objective as I did not intend to spend much time 'at' the hotel. I wanted to see Paris and this was convenient to the larger train stations and the Metro.
Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. Was quiet at night (except for a few noisy guests) and the rooms were very clean!
If I ever get to Paris again, I will definately be staying here! Always felt safe!

Typical Parisian Hotel. I was travelling alone and found the room small on the first day but it grew on me. Shower is a bit difficult to access but by end of 5 day stay I had mastered it. Firm bed very comfortable and room very quiet facing inner courtyatrd.
Staff were very pleasant and spoke great English.
Breakfast; coffee, tea (in varieties), cereals, tinned mixed fruit, apple mousse(?), yoghurt, orange / grapefruit juice, croissant, french bread, melba toast(?), butter/ jams / honey, soft cheese squares.
Two theatres and two cinemas within a couple of hundred yards, as are local shops, Lidl / Monoprix supermarkets, restaurants and take aways. Neighbouring streets have a good selection of small shops.
Metro Strasboug St. Denis is 3 minutes walk and has three main lines making acces to all parts of Paris and beyond very easy.
Area has a colourful but friendly atmosphere.

Room almost on the roof, elevator stop at the fifth floor, 2 storeys to go with our luggage on an exterior stair ( nice view from at sacré coeur, only good point), door absolutely not secure, cramped disguting room with 1 double bed, 2 single beds, dirty bedding, bad room, less but not least ants in the room.... Plus, this hotel is situate at the ''chateau d'eau'' metro station, where a crowd of people will wait for you, yelling stuff, looking at your luggage like wolves in a forest... really not recommended neighbour hood.

We reserve for this hotel by internet, not looking at the comment from this web site (we should have done it before!) 2 advises: first; read comments and look at pictures of other travelers, second; prepare a ''B plan'' to be ready to move!

Again, after reading mixed reviews on this site, I was pleasantly surprised. The room was on the top floor and we had requested twin beds, and got a loft room. The room had it's own bath, which is always a plus. It was clean, no bugs, and maid service every day. It is located about 4 blocks from the underground station in one direction and about 1 block in the other direction. It's location is very central to trains going straight to the Louvre and Eiffel Tower. The neighborhood is a little rough, but there are people out late into the night, so never felt unsafe.

Breakfast was excellent, cereals, croissants/hard rolls, cheeses, butter and jam and coffee or tea. It was also plentiful.

As expected the staff was less than helpful. They were friendly enough, but it was evident they were paid to answer the phone, hand out and take up keys and give vague directions. A couple of them were very helpful, but the rest weren't. It's possible I might stay there again, as it is a chain hotel and nothing earth shattering happened while staying there, except a converter we bought in Paris blew the lights, so we were without lights for a while. However, when we returned that evening they were fixed. Was told it had happened before. Only one plug in the room and one plug in the bathroom, so that could be the problem Has several food locations, a couple of live action theaters in the neighborhood, an internet cafe is about 3 blocks away.
