I've stayed here quite a few times now, and probably will again, because it's been a very positive experience every time: The staff is nice and helpful and the check in took 1 minute. The rooms are small, but they are more than big enough for what you normally do in a hotel, sleep, watch tv, eat a baguette with cheese and ham bought from the nearby store and bakery. Afterwards have a café at the bar at one of the nearby bistros (you save a euro this way) The bathroom is also small, but clean, you get fresh towels every day, some have bath tubs which is excellent after a lot of walking. (we asked for this room and got it). There's a small fridge with a mini bar, stuff it full of your own shopping for eg. breakfast instead.
They have wifi up to the second floor, which is way faster in the lobby though, some of the nearby hotels have open solutions as well. The street is very quiet during the night, the area is safe, and it's a very short walk to several metro stations and sight such as the Eifell Tower, the Army Museum, Napoleon's Tomb, and the Sewer Museum (cheap and cool). You can also take buss no 69 across Paris to reach central and eastern areas, and the no 80 bus to reach south west or eg. Saint Lazare or Montmartre in the north.
Some of the rooms are a little shabby, but they are renovating at the moment, during our visit the whole first floor was under way. The hot water can be a little difficult at times as well, so you have to pay attention when showering, suddenly it turns too cold or too hot.
I'd recommend this place to those who don't care about lifting their suitcases ONCE up two-three floors (this complaint pisses me off unless you have some kinda handicap), if you don't need a huge room to sleep at night, and if you have a certain budget and want to spend your money shopping, sightseeing, or eating well. The location is a huge plus as well. Check out all the different hotel booking sites for the cheapest deal, they vary a lot, even the hotel's own website.
Might be more quiet with rooms facing the backyard, but I've never had any problems with noise f...
