I stayed at the Danemark for two weeks in May 2010 in a single room and thoroughly enjoyed it. Location close to the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens – 2 minute walk – the cafes of Montparnasse, and several Metro lines, although I ended up walking pretty much everywhere as the weather was so good, and the streets of Paris so appealing. Breakfast was a highlight, with croissants, yoghurts, tea/coffee, served in its cute basement, which was not claustrophobic at all – just as well I walked so much each day. The room I stayed in was a single and it was fine – clean and with character from the brick wall, with furniture making clever use of space. Nice use of colour too. Bathroom was also fine, good selection of accessories and good towels, although I would have preferred a fixed showerhead rather than one you had to move over yourself while standing in the bathtub. The solid doors to the room were tightly-sprung and tended to slam quickly, which was annoying a few times late at night with the neighbours. Staff were excellent, on the front desk and in the breakfast room, with little extra touches. Very comfortable feel to the place – I’m sure I’ll stay here again.
