I go to Paris may be twice a year. Over the years I have stayed in several different hotels, good ones and not so good ones. The Danemark Hotel is now my place to stay when in Paris. It is located centrally in an interesting neighborhood (Montpamass) with a lot of restaurants and night life close by. The rooms might not be the biggest you'll ever encounter but hey, it's Paris. When I come back to Paris I am sure I will stay there again.

Stayed 2 nights in Oct 09, our 8th trip to Paris, have stayed in different hotels each time, but we will definitely return to the Danemark next time we visit. The location was great, just half a block from our favourite restaurant, La Coupole (not cheap, but fabulous vibe and people watching, and delicious food including a consistently good assiette végétarien). Staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly: despite the fact they had perfect English and I have limited French, they were happy to speak French to me once they realized I enjoyed this. We asked for a wake-up call to catch our flight on our last night, and when the clerk rang us, he had already (at his own initiative) checked to see that our flight was on time. We paid about 150 Euros for a room facing the street, not super-quiet, but when I'm in Paris, I want to see and hear Parisienne life! The room was Paris-sized, but if you want an American sized room, go to America. It was cheery, and had everything we needed. Lovely to be in the heart of things and to pay a reasonable rate. To me this is very nearly as good as the Hotel Duo or the Hotel Relais St Sulpice, our last two Paris hotels, and costs much much less. The Danemark is just right!

I was visitng Paris with my mother (it was her birthday present actually) and i booked Hotel Danemark in advance via e-mail. I was worrying a bit because of previous post warning with online booking but i have nothing to say against the Danemark staff. They were very helpful, speaking good English. Rooms are rather small, but hey it's Paris! Hotel and room was clean, and at a good location (very close to metro station Vavin). I'd stay there again any time.
