Hotel is well located, just 10 min walk from Port Royal RER. Five minutes to Muffetard, ten to Jardin de plants. Just a few bus stops from Pantheon, Notre Dam atc. Perfect bus connection to the right river bank, direct bus to Opera. I felt quite safe staying in that district.
Single room with bathtub is very tiny and dark!, better to stay in double with bath. Good everyday cleaning. Receptionists are very friendly but not all speak english enough.

Considering I don't speak the language the people at the hotel were very helpful and polite. The accomodation was clean, quiet and comfortable.
My room was cleaned every day and the price was right. 80 e per night. Stayed for 9 days. I had breakfast there a number of times and yes it was "to a Canadian" an odd selection of pastries and a big container of warm milk for my coffee??? It was a clean room and the ladies were quite polite to me. Rooms of this nature always seem to be downstairs.
I spent hours looking for a hotel before leaving for Paris and a friend suggested this one. The neighbourhood is close to M and bus lines for travel into the city center. I was surprised to read reviews that talk about small elevators, paper thin walls, small rooms etc. This just seems to be the way it is in Paris. I did look into a bleak courtyard but I was not there for the view. This hotel is close to Mofftard market, to Port Royal station to get to CDG airport (check schedules this summer for the trains, they are working on the lines and it caused me a lot of anxiety the day I left) and lots of cafe's and grocery stores close also.

Hard to know what to make of this hotel. We have been to Paris a few times and always used this hotel so it isn't all bad by any means.

It is great value for money so I guess that is why we continue to go back. That is always a plus. It is also situated on the main Metro line from the airport which is very handy. Means you don't have to switch trains. Less stress is always good.

Rooms are very small annd basic. TV in room boasts no English speaking channels so be sure to bring a good book with you.

Bed is very very small due to the size of the room and is quite uncomfortable.

Bathroom is small and old.

Rooms are at least clean and staff are pleasant.

I must say that it was a good choice for 3 days in Paris. The Subway that you can take until 12PM is close to the hotel (Port Royal and Les Gobelins stations).
I have chosen this hotel because of his position in Paris, it's close to the most important attractions.We only stayed there 3 days and we wanted to visit everything. The room is very small like others said before, but when you leave the room at 9am and you return 2am, it doesn't really mater. We booked the room on their site and we asked for a room with a view on the boulevard (Port Royal). We received a room on the 3-rd floor (the hotel has an elevator) and the view was fine, we could see from the window the Montparnasse Tower. The Hotel is very close to the Louxembourg Gardens(5min by foot), the Latin Quarter(5mins by foot-lots of cheap restaurants), Pantheon, Montparnasse Tower and Notre Dame. The Lady at the reception was very kind and she gave us all sort of informations (for example, we asked her where could we find tickets for the footbal match between PSG and Montpelier besides the stadium Parc des Princes and she recomanded us the FNAC shop). Breakfast (between 7-10am)was 6.2euro and included 1 little bread, butter, jam, 1 croissant, 1croissant filled with chocolate and coffee/hot chocolate/tea/natural juice. You may have the option to leave luggages at the receptions when you check out if you want. Also you can have your room cleaned every day and the towels changed. Free Wi-fi.
