I had a wonderful 5 night stayed at the Hotel Fondary recently. The hotel is near to Eiffel tower, just need to walk about 15 - 20 mins. It's near to metro too, just need to walk about 5 -8 mins.

The staff is helpful with any request and they can communicate with us in English. The free high speed internet also makes it a great place to stay.

We are so lucky to saw their market (from 7am to 2pm at Sun & Wed every twice a month) near to the metro.

Overall we were satisfied with the hotel, but there are few things to be improve:

- Toilet is too small, but I believed it is quite standard in Paris with 2 stars hotel.
a) No hanger to hang our clothes.
b) Toilet's door is difficult to close, always need another person to push it at outside
c) Water sometimes stuck at the bath tub cannot drain smoothly

- Hotel located at a very quiet street with no brighter street light and seldom people pass by compared to the next street when we back to hotel everyday at about 11pm. We felt unsafe with this situation.

- The hotel signboard is no light too, sometimes we even not noticed that if we have reach the hotel.

- The hotel required us to pass the key to them while we were going out and collect it from them while we were coming back. It's good to avoid lost of the key, but sometimes they can't recognized our face and which room are we stayed in. We just tell them the room no. and they will pass the key back to us. We just worried that our valuable things will lost if the key pass to the wrong guess.

Overall, nice to stay in this hotel!

My expectations for this hotel were not very high but I did expect a clean basic room with reasonable furniture. We were allocated room 202 and thought it disgusting. The carpet was so dirty and stained I didn't like to walk on it bare foot, the bathroom door doesn't close, no shower curtain, stained ceiling and horrible cheap furniture. I have seen better furnished student houses! I asked to be moved to a different room but as the hotel was full this was not possible - I was promised that a different room would be found the next day. Despite packing up all our things we arrived back the following day to find we had not been moved and again the hotel was full. I doubt any of the other rooms would have been any better anyway. It would have been difficult for us to check out and move to a different hotel as we had push bikes with us and we were able to store them in the hotel courtyard. Had we not had bikes with us I would have checked out the first night. Look elsewhere there are far better hotels to be found at a similar or lower cost.

Good points the young staff were friendly and there is a great place for breakfast almost next door.

Luckily for us the weather was great and we only returned to the hotel to sleep. I could not have stood to have spent any extra time in such a dank, dirty, scruffy room. It truly was the most awful hotel I have ever encountered.

This didn't give me the chance to say I traveled in 2009, but that is when we were there. It was small, a little dirty - you can find a lot of things to complain about. But for us, it was the Paris experience times ten. Loved the neighborhood because twenty minutes walk and you're at the Eiffel tower. If we go back to Paris, we will stay there. They also had a cute cat that lived in the lobby!

The neighborhood is well served with transport links and restaurants and there is a good food and clothing market nearby on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The staff are polite and attentive. But the hotel is devoid of charm and uniqueness. Avoid room 001 in the courtyard as guests breakfast just outside the window in fine weather and the view consists of the courtyard wall capped by a small square of the Parisian sky. In conclusion, acceptable within the price range if you need to stay in the 15th, but there are other more interesting hotels elsewhere at this price.
