Hotel Duo exudes contemporary Parisian chic in an amazing location in the heart of the Marais. It effortlessly combines the charm of a traditional Parisian building with sleek interiors. The staff were all friendly - Sebastien in particular at reception was charming and attentive. Yes the rooms are small, but no more so than in any other Parisian hotel unless you can afford to spend several hundred euros per night. Despite being "cosy", the rooms are nicely decorated, most appear to have fully equipped bathrooms with baths (which your feet really need after a day out in Paris) and all in all, a great base for exploring the city. We've been to this hotel twice now and love it.

I spent 6 nights there with my wife. First guy, Sebastian was really helpful. Gave us an upgrade as it was our honeymoon. We also kept our luggage there for up to 2 weeks while we were in Cuba. He also gave us useful recommendations for places to eat in Paris. Etienne was another that was super helpful. Late night, when bar was close, he kindly boiled us some water when asked. Helped booked us tickets for shows as well. Worse service was this guy (mostly in the day) called Frederick. Unfriendly or rather simply unwilling to help us check on previous bookings made to restaurants by his other colleagues. My wife got so pissed off, we just avoided him the rest of our stay. Bar guys were superb as well. Always bantering as we headed past them to the elevators.

So initially, I had booked a single room with bath, after reading that it was a bit larger. When I was given my room key, I find out that it's the smaller single room, with just a shower. The guy at the reception reluctantly admitted the mistake after I made him aware of it, but then proceeded to admit that there were no other rooms available? After a few moments of awkward silence, he proffered to cut the rate down to the regular single rate (how generous!). Of course, I had to inform the reception that that's what they had agreed to do in the first place when I went to check out this morning (and had to re-explain the entire situation, because they tried to charge me for the larger room...).

Otherwise, the room was ok. Tiny, but expected in Europe. And just fine for a single traveler. The walls are paper thin though--i could clearly hear the music my neighbor was playing. And be warned--the shower in this room is tiny! There's barely any room to maneuver around.

I spent 3 days in August with my boyfriend in this great hotel. Small and stylish, incredibly well situated in a beautiful and lively area. We could go walking or by bike everywhere, and it is close to the RER for the airport.
At night it could be a bit noisy as it has night life around... but we were so tired when we arrived we hardly noticed it.
If you are looking for a big room, i don't think this is your hotel. But if you want to give yourself a small luxury and enjoy the city centre, i highly recommend it.
