Most of the suites have a few of the Eiffel Tower, if you can squeeze onto the small balcony. We had a wonderful view of the Bastille Day fireworks silhouetting the Eiffel from the Trocodero. The room was small (aren't all French rooms small?), but adequate and fairly clean overall.
We enjoyed our stay, and the staff were attentive and courteous, getting us taxis whenever we needed one in quick time. Breakfast was a good value and the hotel is located within an easy walk of Rue Cler market (wine, baguette, cheese, chocolate!), shopping, a mid-priced restaurant (Officiers), Metro stop, etc. I never felt worried about crime inthe 7th arr., and never encountered rudeness.
If you are taking any of the standard bus tours though, you might consider staying at that end of town. The buses leave early, so you would miss breakfast, and there's a bit of a ride on the Metro to get across town to the tourist buses.
However, we did 'lose' an android phone during a tour bus trip; my husband and I fell asleep on the bus (jet lag), and we believe his pocket was picked by a small child with his very talkative Romanian Mom. Lots of 'urchins' from other countries on the streets, on tour buses near the tourist areas, and on the right bank. Guard your stuff near the train and metro stations!
