I visited this hotel in june 2010 with a student tour, I was their group leader. The hotel itself was very nice, though definitely not centrally located. the rooms had wonderful kitchenettes and there is a grocery store 50m away-- micro, electric kettle, stove, dishwashers! however, the neighborhood is awful. There are african youths hanging out outside the hotel from 4pm until about 3am, very noisy. the neighboring apartments were noisy until about 2am, then back up at 5am. The hotel is not air conditioned, but with all the noise, you cannot open the windows at night-- and in fact, i would not recommend it. my girls on the tour, our last night there, they had their window open and as they were getting ready for bed, they saw fingers, then hands, then a head trying to climb into their room. Fortunately they saw it, shut the door and a few moments later the hotel security was at the room.
the breakfast was good, very french, which is what you want! the staff was nice and helpful. the restaurant down the road, les comediens is absolutely fabulous! (italian food) the hotel is only 3 minute walk from restaurants, metro station, boulangerie, a beautiful park-- so even though it's out of the city centre, it has a lot going on around it.
This is a great hotel, good outskirts location, but because of the other neighborhood residents, I do not recommend this hotel-- if you are willing to discard the noise (horrendous) and the possibility of unsafeness, then it is a good choice-- just watch those windows!!!!!
