“good hotel, bad neighborhood”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2010

I visited this hotel in june 2010 with a student tour, I was their group leader. The hotel itself was very nice, though definitely not centrally located. the rooms had wonderful kitchenettes and there is a grocery store 50m away-- micro, electric kettle, stove, dishwashers! however, the neighborhood is awful. There are african youths hanging out outside the hotel from 4pm until about 3am, very noisy. the neighboring apartments were noisy until about 2am, then back up at 5am. The hotel is not air conditioned, but with all the noise, you cannot open the windows at night-- and in fact, i would not recommend it. my girls on the tour, our last night there, they had their window open and as they were getting ready for bed, they saw fingers, then hands, then a head trying to climb into their room. Fortunately they saw it, shut the door and a few moments later the hotel security was at the room.
the breakfast was good, very french, which is what you want! the staff was nice and helpful. the restaurant down the road, les comediens is absolutely fabulous! (italian food) the hotel is only 3 minute walk from restaurants, metro station, boulangerie, a beautiful park-- so even though it's out of the city centre, it has a lot going on around it.
This is a great hotel, good outskirts location, but because of the other neighborhood residents, I do not recommend this hotel-- if you are willing to discard the noise (horrendous) and the possibility of unsafeness, then it is a good choice-- just watch those windows!!!!!

“Never Again”

I stayed in the hotel with a group of students. A number of the rooms were not ready even an hour after they were promised. The rooms were large and clean and well lit. Breakfast was not available at 7 am as was promised. My gripe with the hotel is safey. One of the rooms was broken into and 3 ipods, a camera and a passport were stolen. When the police arrived, the receptionist explained that a day or two prior, there were two other break-ins. One actually occured on the second floor. On Sunday night, there was a group of young men hanging out on the street in front of the hotel until well after midnight. Security mysteriously found the passport the next morning. I would not recommend this hotel.

“Wot No pillows”

This is a really poorly run hotel. There were 12 of us booked into 3 rooms for 6 people but they only had 2 on the system! We were given 2 rooms for 6 people and 1 room for 4. When we then went into one of the rooms it was still inhabited. We then ended up with 1 room for 6 and 2 rooms for 4!
The area is not nice at all with groups of youths out in the evening riding motorbikes up and down the closed road the hotel resides on. We went to Disneyland and came back really late, the walk to the hotel was not nice.
We wouldn't recommend the arae or this hotel, we have stayed in Torcy and in the 20th arondissement and both of these were far better.

“Definite pros and cons make this a so-so stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2007

We stayed here as part of a school trip. Although the rooms were great - they were huge apartments! - the location was awful. We'd already been travelling for over a week and we had to walk several blocks because the bus could not get to the hotel. When we arrived, we were greeted by a gang of kids. The kids then threatened the students in our group and threw things at our windows.

The staff was rude and couldn't be bothered to help. We had arranged for breakfast one morning with the tour company, but when we arrived, we were told that we were expected to be there earlier and that we could not eat. They eventually gave our tour guide a trash bag and told him to fill it with rolls, so the students could eat. It was ridiculous.

The hotel was far from everything, the staff was rude, and the random gangs made the place uncomfortable after dark. Overall, despite the great rooms themselves, this is definitely not the best place to stay!

  • Disliked — Everything els! Awful location, rude staff, sketchy area at night

“Staff now very pleasant”

Just thought I'd write to say that the staff on the reception desk were very friendly and helpful when we had our latest holiday at these apartments - our holiday company had "forgotten" to reserve our rooms, and the desk staff made suggestions, booked us a local taxi, helped out explaining the situation to the taxi driver and were extremely pleasant and understanding throughout.

We did converse in schoolboy/girl french, which may have helped, even though I'm sure our skills were fairly poor!
