“Unfriendly Staff”

We found the staff to be very rigid and that we were an interruption to their routines and schedules. We were fifteen minutes late for breakfast and the lady in the dining area refused to seat our group. I had to go to the front desk to get it resolved and then fifteen minutes later she ordered everyone out of the dining area and stopped others from even getting any bread or coffee. She did not like Americans and we felt it.
On the last day, we had to catch our bus at 7:00 AM and had to leave the hotel at 6:30 PM. They did not deviate from their schedule to provide us with any breakfast items we could take away, even after repeated requests. We will not stay at any of your properties again.

“This is a Keeper”

I have just returned from Paris and stayed at this hotel with 24 students. It is LARGE in comparison with other Paris hotels. It has a kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, toilet room. Very kind people at the desk, good breakfast and workable elevators. Some people complained about the people outside the hotel making noise at night because the street is barriered from traffic. We did not have a problem and we were facing this area. I have traveled for 12 years with students and this is, by far, one of the best hotels in Paris. Recommend this highly.

“Day....Haven; Night....MARE!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2005

Our family (2 adults+3 teenage kids) travelled through north and central France during the summer and stayed in Paris at this apartment-hotel for 3 nights. When we first checked in, we were delighted at the ample space -- separate bedrooms, spacious sitting room, and a well-equipped kitchen which we often used. The interior layout is very home-like : very clean and bright bedding and curtains, big wardrobes and a small table for meals. The kitchen has ample cupboards for groceries and a medium sized fridge which we stocked up from nearby supermarkets. The apartment has no air-conditioning but there is a wide window that opens out to the side-lane to let in cool breezes.

When night fell, however, our nightmare began! The hotel complex is situated inside a side-lane which is supposed to be an exclusive alley in the neighbourhood. It is short, narrow and closed at both ends; the opposite side is a kindergarten which would be closed by late afternoons. Then...starting from around 10 p.m., youngsters (gangsters?)appeared : singing, dancing, shouting and joy-riding on motor-bikes! They just rumbled to and fro in the lane coz it was closed-ended and absolutely no cars would enter. Even if we closed the window, the noise was penetrating coz the mob was like 5-20 metres from the hotel. The gang was amazingly punctual and they appeared EVERY NIGHT and partied till well after 2a.m.! We complained to the management but there was nothing they could do. We had thought about moving out, but the hotel had made us pay the whole length of our stay at check-in and of course they would not refund. Very frustrating and disappointing!!

The location of the hotel, although close to a metro station and grocery stores, was actually quite difficult to find. We had got the information from a hotel search web-site, but we did not expect it to be so "hidden" inside a labyrinth of alleys. Even passers-by (who turned out to be neighbours) did not know the hotel!

Moreover, the entrance of the paid hotel carpark was extremely narrow and low. We had rented a mini-van and could barely squeeze through the "hole". I couldn't understand why a hotel carpark in Paris could have such a pathetic hole for an entrance. Even an over-populated city like Hong Kong has much grander carpark entrances in residential areas.

So we had 3 sleepless nights at this accomodation. We had paid 463 Euros for 3 nights(breakfast NOT included).

Very disappointing! Definitely NOT stay there again!

“Family Apartment - not happy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2005

Stayed at this apartment complex with our three young children. We arrived late at night from the Paris Metro and thought that we had arrived in a terrible ghetto. Area was not at all inviting. Also trying to find the place was realy really difficult. Only for some nice locals who took pity on us we would never have found it.
The apartments are really tiny (ours was supposed to be for six! - maybe six very small people who like each other a lot). Although it was clean - all the sheets smelt very very strange - I guess it was the washing powder - but we had to perfume them before going to sleep. On waking up the next day - things did improve. Although the area is not the best - it is a living area with a great market nearby on a Sunday. It is not the most central but after a while we got used to the metro and the walk to the metro. The park nearby is nice. It is true - each evening there were some guys hanging around the street - who never threatened us (actually they helped us one everning with directions) - but I would be wary of them.
Would I return - no. For the price, size, area - I think that one can do better.

“group stay at Pierre et Vacances”

We were part of a large group staying at the residence for 4 nights. The residence was clean and well appointed, however, the staff was less than inviting, especially while serving breakfast. They refused to provide a fifth towel to a room with five guests. Also, while the area is quiet, there were small groups of young locals outside the hotel every evening. At one point, one of them tried to grab the handbag of one of our group. They were prevented from doing so by a passerby. This occured at 20:00.
