“Price/quality ratio very low”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2010

Very good position, close to two metro stop and in proximity to Champs Elysees.
Room was very poor in furniture, the bathroom was dirty and after we complained to the lady at the reception nothing happened until next morning. The blanket was dirty too. Only French channels available on TV. Staff seem to hardly stand the presence of guests. Minimum level of courtesy.
Definitely does not worth his price.

“Cold rooms, unfriendly staff”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2010

We stayed here for 3 days, it was horrible! There are worn rooms without heating in winter.
We shivered in our beds at night. Paris was very nice in the winter snow but this dirty ice cave was the worst hotel in my life!

“Can't believe the poor reviews - this is a lovely little hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2010

I'm so amazed to see many disappointed guests from this hotel on Trip Advisor. Trust me, it's charming. It isn't luxurious, but what do you expect for the price? The whole place was absolutely immaculate, it was beautifully decorated, it is deadly quiet despite being in a perfect location - its location couldn't be any more convenient, the beds are comfortable, it has all the necessary facilities, the bathrooms are lovely, the breakfast room is lovely... The only faults I can find are that the lift is quite small and the receptionist was a bit huffy, but only in a charming French way! Highly recommended; I will definitely be back.

“Great location, but only expect the bare necessities. No frills.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2010

We requested two beds, but got one. We needed Internet, but it was down our entire stay and we didn't see anyone trying to fix it. She told us to use the Wifi at Starbucks or McD's. The contiental breakfast was yummy and the place was always clean and quiet. They spoke English and it is within walking distance of the Champs Elysse, the Metro (learn the Metro!) , the Arc and the Eiffel Tower. You have to turn in your key whenever you leave and you get it back when you return. This is a common practice in Europe. There were no face towels, luckily I'd packed my own. Oh, and the television didn't get reception, so don't expect to watch tv. (No DVD player) No bathroom plug. Pack a powerstrip. Eurpoean style shower, be prepared. But worth the low price.

“Convenient, quiet, clean and reasonably priced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2010

This trip to Paris was a birthday present from my husband and I was SO worried when I read the reviews. However, it was lovely. Everything was absolutely spotlessly clean. The room was charming with old beams and panelled and mirrored walls. The moulding on the panels, to my surprise, had no dust on it and the mirrored walls not a smudge on them. The bed was kingsize and very comfortable with a spare blanket and pillow in the wardrobe. There was a TV but only CNN channel was English. Ample plug points storage.
The bathroom was tiled throughout, again spotless. Only 2 'sample' size soaps and 2 sachets of shower gel but we didn't expect fancy toiletried and had taken our own. Towels were replaced daily but were the usual continental ones that are not very thick. \it was a great shame that there had been a leak I think and a piece of the bath panel had been taken out to fix it and replaced by a vinyl strip that was peeling away and spoiled the overall impression. We were in room 2 which was upa little flight of curved stairs and there was only 1 other room there so it was lovely and quiet. The air-conditioning was quiet and efficient. It broke down one night but was fixed the next morning [a Sunday-try that in England!].
Breakfast was continental but plentiful. Excellent coffee, muesli, yoghourt, jars of jam, croissants and bread, orange and grapefruit juice, camembert and emmental cheeses. Help yourself eat your fill! Again lovely and clean.
It was an expensive area but still reasonable places to eat if you looked for them.
Drawbacks? Well I wouldn't want to pay the full rate which was 160 euro and an extra 10 euros each for breakfast. Book through an agency website to get a better deal. Getting from the airport was easy via RER and Metro but so hot and crowded. Situation is ideal for Champs d'Elysee or a stroll down the banks of the Seine. We had a lovely trip and would go again. I do not understand previous reviews. Were we just lucky?
