Unfortunately, I could not find another place to stay near my office, during Paris fashion week, but, when i saw the pictures on the website, they looked ok and pleasant enough. The price of 200+ Euros was, after my finds, a ridiculous and totally un justified price to pay for such a total disaster of a place.
The room smelled of dirty bodies and dirty feet and the carpet was full of marks, which i do not want even to start to investigate where they came from. It was so dirty that I kept my shoes on at all times only to remove them when I went into bed. The cream coloured bed spread, was full of white and black marks and the matching curtains too. The tiny TV set from the 80s and the satellite were not working since , as i was told, the winds of the previous week blew it off but no repair was done in the first week i was there. I just managed to watch around 10 french language channels but only for 345 minutes each night when the TV and satellite went totally KAPUT. The air con was not working and with a week of 25/30 degrees, it was hellish .The wardrobe doors where not able to close. The bathroom had very stained marble tiles, with different colour marks and stains and the shower went hot and cold and the whole unit fell of the wall a few times. Yesterday, entering the Hotel's hall there was an incredibly strong and almost sickening stench of dead rats and sewage and i gathered that some sewage pipe must have burst so i quickly proceeded to my room and went to sleep as quickly as possible. I do not believe that the French Hotel association can let an hotel in such a lovely area of Paris especially, charge this sort of money and be in such ridiculous condition. I must stay here for another 5 days and for as much that i could change, it is so unbelievable bad that i must stay to se it through. almost laughable. Totally to be avoided. RG
