Recently I have taken up on staying in the Evergreen Laurel in Levallois, due to its proximity to the office. So I travel on business, 3 nights every week (by the time of writing spent a total of 15 night there since December 2011). We are on a corporate rate so I cannot advise you about pricing to the general public.
The hotel is conveniently located at Place Pompidou - lots of nice restaurants nearby (La Chantier, Le Canelle, Nina Sushi, Le Sans Souci) and a nice supermarket just outside the hotel. The metro station (Pont de Levallois - Becon) is only a minute away (line 3), so it is easily accessible from downtown (directly on M3 you find Opera, Bourse, Republique). Also, there is a typicall Parisienne bakery (boulangerie patisserie) just around the corner from the hotel.
The rooms are very spacious (especially for Parisian standards) with double beds, a chic chaise longue (that long, comfy chair with armrests), strong wireless Wifi.
The breakfast is a bit of a disappointment - served in the big attrium, in a buffet style. It always smells like oil and eggs (there is a selection of warm food - rice, steamed vegetables, fries, and the usual ugly little sausage and an omelett that is very mushy and watery). The coffee is very weak, the fruit juice looks like it is pressed, but trust me it's not. My advice: do not get the breakfast option, but walk 50 meters to the bakery (they serve coffee, too) or just opposite the bakery, Sans Souci (also serves lunch), where they have croissants, coffee, and real pressed OJ, too. French hotels usually charge 17 - 25 eur for breakfast, don't fall for this. Treat yourself to a real French breakfast.
The service at the reception is usually quick, but apart from a few exceptions (there is a nice American guy working there) they do not seem to be thrilled to have you staying there.
I always set the "Do not disturb" sign on my door, but sometimes it is ignored - and they come in, tuck the duvet under the mattress, change the towels, mess (rearrange) my things in the bathroom.
Being a Chinese hotel chain the hotel is frequented by Asian tourists and looks like the airline crews are staying here, too. Sometimes they have private functions (e.g. wedding receptions) in the atrium, and that is when things get noisy. The other night they had the karaoke on, and my colleague in a room on the 2nd floor overlooking the atrium could not sleep.
Room Tip: Make sure you get a room overlooking the Place Pompidou - and not overlooking the backstreet behind...
