Overall pleasant stay - we had decent sized 1 bedroom apt that was renovated and modern. Clean and very nice bathroom. Nice staff and good breakfast. On corner is Rue Oberkamp with many markets and shops for food and close by to restaurants if you want to eat in the area. Very close to 3 line metro stop made travels around Paris easy. Not luxury but simple and clean...with family a good choice for the price.

Stayed here for 8 nights with my 11 year old daughter in a studio apartment with a fold out sofa bed. Sofa cushions had some ugly stains on it which put us off sitting on it during the day and instead we kept the sofa bed folder out which limited room space. Sheets and apartment were spotlessly clean and kitchen was well stocked with appliances and all cookery needs. The building has a washing machine, dryer and garbage bins in the basement but we found it easy to wash clothes each night in the bath with some cheap powder bought from the local supermarket. There is a small pull out clothes line in the bathroom and our washing dried overnight. The apartment does get stuffy, no air conditioning but you can open the window. Great view of apartment building across street. There is a roof top garden but you must ask the manager's for access. Staff are friendly, helpful and speak English. You can interact with them or be left alone. Bakery on the corner is fantastic and staff friendly enough to help with limited English. Metro also across the road and we found it easy to access all the major sites and bigger stations to visit country cities in France. Parmentier does have some graffiti and looks a little rough but we found everyone was fine and felt safe after dark. Great supermarket and butcher around corner in rue Oberkampf. Good security for building and 24 hour staff in reception. For the price, this was perfect for us and we could cook all meals and pack picnics for day excursions. 10 minute walk to Pere Lachaise cemetery which is well worth a look. Staff also arranged day tours for us to Mont St.Michel, a Paris Illuminations Tour & Moulin Rouge show, ringing to check all reservations and airport transfers. I can't fault them. Free internet kept my daughter happy and we had no problems day or night using webcam or gaining access from our room. McDonalds across the road also kept my daughter happy and saved us on nights we came home late. McDonalds and the supermarket have a self service pay station if you can't speak any French and you can order &/or pay through an ATM system.

From experience of booking city breaks you are always a little cautious when booking hotels as you are a little unsure about the location itself and the location in terms of access to the sights and landmarks. However, you are pefectly placed here as Parmentier Metro is literally a stones throw from the apartments and this line runs directly to Republique which is one of the main stations with a number of other Metro lines running from it. The apartment we had was exactly what we needed really with a large balcony/terrace which we sat out on every night. The main living/sleeping area was a bit small especially when you pulled the sofa bed out but it was ok for a few days whilst we were there. We also had a cooker (which we didn't use) and a fridge (which we did to store our alcohol) The only negatives were that the room was never cleaned and the towels were never changed but we could have asked for more so I suppose. The staff were very friendly and the night before we left they called a taxi for us which picked us up in the morning. Paris was lovely and we had a great time. I would definitely go back again and I would definitely stay here again.

We spent 10 days here and were given an apartment of almost 400 square feet with a separate bedroom, kitchen, and a small balcony. The apt was on the top floor off a side street. The 24 hour staff spoke English and were extremely helpful and pleasant. Everything was clean and the well-appointed kitchen had all of the utensils and gadgets we needed (including a cork screw for wine). Therefore, we didn't have to eat out if we were tired and just wanted to relax. The in-room free DSL worked fine and was great for mapping out our use of the Metro and buses as we planned our daily itinerary. We liked the location a lot - the Metro (Parmentier stop on Line 3) across the street, nice bakery and small eateries at the corner, and a good supermarket (Marche U) at 46 Overkampf (make a left at the corner and walk a few blocks. We like to walk and found that we could walk to many places such as Pere Lachaise, Canal St Martin, Notre Dame, the Pompidou Center, etc. This was good because there was a strike on Thursday because of dissatisfaction with government pension cutbacks.
To sum up, this apartment hotel was not plush but much better than we expected and a seemingly good value.
