Stayed here for three nights in Oct 2006. Wasn't as close to the Metro as we would have liked, but the walk was manageable without luggage; with luggage, consider a taxi.
The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is a bit utilitarian-looking. I wouldn't say it's unsafe to walk around, just not picturesque to look at. On the plus side, there's a Monoprix grocery store, a nice bakery and a few restaurants all within a 5 minute walk. The Eiffel Tower is about a 10-15 minute walk away.
The hotel itself was fancier than we expected and the rooms were well appointed. The bed mattress was an all foam one. A little firm for my tastes, but a lot better than being too soft. The size of the room was on the small side; watch out for the corners of the bed. They leave nasty bruises on your shins! A nice touch was being able to turn the room lights on and off at the bedside.
The bathroom was also small and could only fit one person at a time. The fittings appeared brand new, but the shower had a tendency to leak onto the floor. Strategic placement of a towel halted the water flow, but I hate to think what the long term effects would be on the laminate bathroom floor.
The room service rates weren't horrendous, charging just a little more than if we ate down in the restaurant. Beware...Stayed here for three nights in Oct 2006. Wasn't as close to the Metro as we would have liked, but the walk was manageable without luggage; with luggage, consider a taxi.

Overall, I'd recommend this hotel to others.
