The girlfriend and I spent a week in Paris recently, and wanted to be close to all the action without having it all on top of us. The Novotel Paris Tour Eiffel seemed to boast the perfect location - and did not disappoint.
We had noticed a lot of reviewers make mention of the fact the hotel was 'not as close to the Eiffel Tower as its name suggests'... Unless you are the laziest human in the world, let me assure you - this is nonsense. It really is a stone's throw. We were blown away when we walked out the front door of the hotel and looked down the street to see the Eiffel Tower right there in front of us. Brilliant.
The staff were friendly and helpful. We thought we'd try our luck and request a room with a view - of course all the rooms with a view of the tower were booked out, though we secured a room on the opposite side of the hotel with stunning views of the river Seine.
The room itself was small, but beautiful. Very comfortable and cosy. We opted to eat all our meals out, so didn't experience the hotel breakfast, however the hotel is within walking distance of some incredible patisseries and restaurants as well as mini-supermarkets.
All in all, a great stay in a fantastic location. We were able to walk to most of all the big attractions and the hotel is literally right next to a metro station for any that were a little out of reach. There's two Mac computers in the lobby for guests to use - or if you're rocking a laptop or smartphone there's also a free wifi lounge which was great for us.
Cost-wise... it was a little on the expensive side, but not ridiculously so. With the Eiffel Tower at your doorstep, it really is worth that little bit extra.
