“Beautiful View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Customer Service was ok at the reception. We have been waiting for the room for almost 2 hours, but only because we first got 13th floor and wanted to swap it for 33rd instead, which was last floor with central view of Eiffel Tower and wait was worth it. We still could refresh, take shower after the flights and change, which was nice. I would recommend anyone to book only last floor rooms only or to demand only last floor on arrival. We booked at night vegetarian sandwiches, which were very expensive we waited almost an hour and we still got a chicken one, that was disappointing as person who served us played as he didnt understand us. Novotel location was quite poor. Pulman more recommended as its literately 1 min from the Eiffel Tower. Novotel its good 20 min walk. No shops or restaurants around the hotel, more like another 20 min walk to any newsagent or local shop. 15 min walk to closest sub. Rooms are average size but quite nice. But I must give them 10/10 for the views. We could also use swimming pool which wasn't all that like for Novotel standards. For Paris I would rather look for something closer to the Eiffel Tower and local shops and restaurants. But if you are able to book high floor room for the sake of the breath taking view I would recommend it. Also recommend to book at least breakfast with the room unless you will be in trouble looking for any breakfast around hotel.

Dear Guest,

Thank you so much for leaving your comment at TripAdvisor.

I’m glad to hear that you were delighted with the view you had. The pictures you posted on the website are beautiful!

I regret the incident with room service. Be assured that I have transmitted your message to the Manager so he can take action. As for the restaurants we hope that for your next stay we will have the pleasure to welcome you in our French restaurant Novotel Café or the well-known Japanese restaurant the Benkay. There is a souvenir shop as well and the Snacking for drinks and snacks.

In hoping of welcoming you back soon!

Sincerely,

Denis Gauthier

Awful room and extremely uncomfortable beds. For a 4 star hotel way below standard room. Has put us off Novotel for future stays.

Dear Guest,

With great attention I have read the comment you left on TripAdvisor. I regret that you are not satisfied with your stay.

I feel sorry you haven’t had the chance to meet one of our Duty Managers, at your entire disposal at the number 2424 from your room, to accompany you during the whole stay between 7am and 11pm for any request or information. They would have loved to meet you and find a solution.

This is not the image of a 4 star hotel we would like you to have. Be assured that the image you had is not a real reflexion of the quality of service we urge to offer on a daily basis.
I hope you will give Novotel another chance so we can show you the excellent service we aim to provide our guests with.

Sincerely,

Denis Gauthier

“Great stay, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We got a great deal on a family room over Christmas on one of those last-minute hotel websites. It was literally 500 dollars cheaper than the next comparable hotel for a five-day stay. We drove from London to Paris taking the Chunnel (very easy to use - it was our first time and went very smoothly). Driving in Paris is quite difficult, so I recommend parking as soon as possible and using public transport. The hotel had covered parking for like $25 a day.

Lobby was fantastic, and had an x-box for the kids. They actually made some friends there. Concierge there was very helpful in making plans for tours. Little slow at the check-in desk, but it was Christmas week and very busy.

Room was good size and fit all four comfortbly. Kids on a pull out couch, and us on a double bed. Bed was not very comfortable, but they brought another duvet whenwe asked and we slept on that. The room was in decent condition, but the bathroom door handle was coming off and the shower door did not close completely which let water on the floor. We told the front desk, they fixed the handle but not the shower door. Neither problem was that bad, didn't bother us too much.

Location was good, about 10 min walk to the nearest metro station where there were several crepe restaurants and a Subway sandwich shop. Another 5 min to the Eiffel Tower. Ate breakfast every day at these crepe places, about 5 euros for a ham-egg-chese crepe that kept us full for 3 hours or so. Didn't eat at the hotel, the price for breakfast was very high, not included with the room.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel. Staff and price were excellent, and location was good. We will visit again.

Dear Guest,

I woud like to thank you so much for spending some time sharing your great experience at the Novotel Paris Tour Eiffel with us and other travellers.

I’m delighted to hear that you had a great Christmas Time in Paris with your family. As you noticed, we make sure that children feel at home as well. We have 1 Kinect nowadays at the ground level and 1 X-Box at their disposal at the reception level so they can enjoy themselves playing games.

Be assured that I have transferred your feedback concerning the technical problems in your room to the technical department in order to make sure these issues are solved.
I hope to see you again soon!

Sincerely,

Denis Gauthier

“Nice check in staff but dirty rooms and rude bagaggiere”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This is no doubt close to the Eiffel Tower, and has very pleasant check in staff and restaurant waiters, but it is not a 4 star hotel. The rooms are grubby and dirty, small, need cleaning and have uncomfortable beds. And the refusal to allow guests to leave their coats with their suitcases is both ridiculous and offensive.

“Clean, cheap (relatively) and comfy in Paris.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The Novotel does not pretend to be the Ritz, nor the George V, but it is clean and usually well priced.

It is a large hotel, a good walk from the Eiffel Tower (10-15minutes) on the Seine. Free wifi in the lobby is a nice touch. The room was clean, and decently spacious for Paris.

Breakfast was included in my rate and is a buffet affair. Excellent espresso from an automated, self-serve machine (I'm quite a coffee snob - it's VERY hard to find good espresso in France, and this was better than most nice restaurants attempts).

The spa, gym and pool area seemed fine - though I did not use these.

My one quibble, and this is not just about this hotel, but many in Paris, is that the room was very warm and the thermostat did not cool the room, even on its coldest setting. Perhaps, as it was winter, the cooling function was disabled. I did not attempt to have the hotel fix this. Turning the entire system allowed the room to cool a bit, but it was still fairly warm.

Overall - if the price was right, I would stay here again.

Overa

Dear Guest,

As you have noticed the Novotel Paris Tour Eiffel is indeed a large hotel (764 rooms) which offers a lot of services as for example a concierges desk, a porter service but as well the very well-know Japanese restaurant the Benkay and the French restaurant Novotel Café.

I’m delighted to hear that you enjoyed the new coffee machine as well as the cleanliness of the room. I apologize for the fact that the room was to warm, we are currently working on a finding a solution.

See you soon at Novotel!

Yours sincerely,

Denis Gauthier
