“Great location, Dirty Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2010

I stayed in this Hotel for a week last month, July 2010. This hotel is located in an upscale neighborhood close to the Louvre, restaurants, metro. The staff was friendly and professional and WIFI was only 3euros/ 3 days. However, my room was very very dirty. I found a dying rat in my room on the last day of my stay (!!!!!), the blanket had stains, there was black mold in the shower and the carpet needed to be deep cleaned. If the hotel was clean and rodent free I would have given them a 4/5...Hopefully they can pull their act together as this has the potential to be a charming hotel.

“Fantastic for a family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 June 2010

We stayed this hotel's annex which was actually a hotel ascott just round the corner. It was a top floor family room, lift is small just like any other hotels in paris, so mind you.
We didn't know we were to sent there until we arrived but the stuff from Ile de France came and helped our bags all the way, and as it was a quad room, but we are 3 of us and a baby, he was able to collaps the extra bed and made more space for us, and put us a cot ( which we had to remind but every thing was so quick and he was so friendly!) The room was all toile de jouy and bathroom was so clean. there was a mini bar and kettle, but no tea bags nor coffee so if you fancy a cup of tea, remember to pack your own ( which I did anyway!)
The reception is much more friendly at the ile de france, but I reckon this is the same ownership and they are trying to refurbishing all the rooms....as I saw more pretty white furniture arriving at the reception area. Only 5mins from the opera, lovely bakry just round the corner, full of japanese restaurants around...(my japanese parents was so pleased..) I didn't try breakfast as I had a baby and my parents not keen on western breakfast, but monoprix is so near you can helpyoursef if you prefer. Next time love to stay in a main building!

“Great location but very average comfort”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 April 2010

The one thing this hotel has going for it is location, cannot be beaten. It is a stone's throw from the Louvre and the Opéra. Metro stations very close by as well, handy when you have young children whom you are dragging all over the city. The Boulevard des Italiens, a 3 minute walk away, is lined with a huge number of restaurants, lots of quick and easy pizza places. One good tip I had from this site was to grab breakfast at the little Boulangerie Fontaine Gaillon opposite the hotel, much cheaper and probably better than the hotel breakfast - amazing fresh croissants and fresh orange juice.
The negatives - we had a triple room with an extra bed as we have 2 kids. There was no way this room was meant to take that many which to be fair the hotel called and warned us of. But having booked it we had little choice and there was really no room to move at all. It was at best a double room, not even a triple. We stayed in 2 different rooms as we went away for a day in between. In the first one (room 42, 4th floor) the bathroom was small but very new, so very clean and sparkling. In the second (room 12, 1st floor) the bathroom was rather older, more run-down, clean but in need of renovation. The pillows on the beds were also less than adequate and the hotel staff were unable to find us more than one extra pillow.
It is an old building so has character, and to be honest the noise once the windows were shut did not bother us at all even on the 1st floor. I would stay here again overall but only if I was travelling alone or as a couple. Else I would just book 2 rooms for the 4 of us.

“Good hotel for good price”

This is a small hotel. Really inexpensive (I paid 65€ only for a single room).
The hotel position i very good, while it is near the Operà, and near a metro station too.
Sometime on July or June it is a little bit noisy due to noisy hosts.

“Good Location, Not a nice hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2010

I was disappointed from the moment I entered in the hall. It had a small hall and breakfast room, using a mirror effect to make the room appear bigger in the photo. Our room was small too, so small that to be able to put the third bed they had to move a table near the door. At this point to be able to get into the room you would have to be a skinny model. The shower is small, you can barely turn. Room was superficially cleaned. Bed very unconfurtable. Not very nice!
They did a very bad job in restoring that historical residence.
Location is good, with a very good French bakery across the hotel.
There are few hotels in the same area that appear to me better than this one.
