“No frills.”

Hotel: The hotel could use a remodel or at least a fresh coat of paint. The room was small but expected. Nothing too fancy, no coffee/tea maker in the room, no shampoo/conditioner in the bathroom. THERE ARE NO CURTAINS IN FOR THE BATH. Taking a "shower" was a bit of a challenge. The location was tucked away in an area that appears to be unsafe however after a few days, it didn't feel unsafe as we became familiar with the area. Eiffel Tower was about 20 mins walk away and the metro about 7 mins. There is a grocery store around the corner and a few restaurants. I could see the tip of the tower from my bedroom window. The coolest thing was that they offered free wi-fi. The beds were fairly comfortable, no complaints. Please note-since this is an old hotel, they are still using old fashioned keys and not key cards. You must leave the key at the front desk before you go out. Also, the elevators are tiny. My friend and I took turns taking our bags up.

Staff: The staff was friendly and helpful.

If you're looking for a cheap no frills place for a few days, this place might work for you. Overall this place wasn't too bad, just extremely basic and for the price, you get what you pay for. I will probably stay elsewhere next time however, I would not mind staying here again if needed.

“Nice Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2011

My wife and I stayed at Au Pacific Hotel for 5 nights and we had a great time there.
It's a little hotel but is the rooms are quite nice, clean and location is superb(close to Dupleix - line 6 - and Avenue Emile Zola - line 10). People at the front desk is very helpful and all of them speaks English. We got stuck in Paris due to a strike in Belgium and they could arrange us a room for an extra night. If you happen to be there on a sunday, don't miss the amazing street market under line 6 subway. Nice place and I'm sure when I come back to Paris, will book it again.

“Great hotel and neighborhood for budget travellers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 June 2010

We booked this online because it was one of the cheapest hotels (73 euro/night) we could find in the central area that also had some good reviews. Pleasantly suprised by what we got for the money - super clean (if a little shabby) rooms, pleasant staff, easily accessible to the Metro, and a great neighborhood with an excellent selection of food and drink options for the budget traveller: Boulangeries (B. Maeder Boulangerie Alsacienne on Rue de Lourmel), superettes, takeaway joints (7 euro hand-stretched pizza at the Greek joint on the Boulevard de Grenelle), and bars ( 5 euro happy hour special at Le Zinc on Avenue Motte Picquet; large beer selection and tasty food at Le Dernier Metro on Boulevard de Grenelles). Would definitely stay here again.

“Would not hesitate to stay there again.”

This hotel is great for the price. The turndown service was completed everyday with fresh towels, cups, shampoo and soap. There is free wireless internet that you simply get a username and password from the front desk to use. The front desk service was always friendly. During our second day there, our other travel plans were cancelled so we decided to stay there another three night. The hotel accommodated us without trouble and even gave us the promotion price were paying for our original booked nights. (I should add that the hotel was fully booked the whole time we were there)
We did not eat the breakfast provided there but we did have their coffee in the morning which is less expensive than getting out in the city. It was not bad at all.
The hotel building itself is old, like many buildings in Paris, but it is kept up to a decent standard. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, the in-room bathroom was a decent size with fully functioning facilities.
The location of the hotel was perfect for what we wanted to do, which was explore Paris by foot and public transportation. It is a short walk to the Eiffel Tower, subway and train stations, and has many inexpensive cafes scattered around it.
In other reviews I have read that the rooms are small. I think that all depends to what you are used to. For European standards the rooms are average sized.
