“September in Paris with Harper”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We stayed in this lovely older hotel in September 2011. Well priced and fabulous location. We could walk a short distance to a subway/metro and take the train everywhere. It was easy to get to the hotel from the Airport. We walked to the Eiffel Tour and other points of interest. The hotel has an elevator, the rooms were clean and fresh but not fancy. We were not in Paris for the rooms but to be in the heart of Paris. The breakfast was reasonably priced with fresh bread, yogurt, tea, coffee, cereal, and other items. The hotel staff was so helpful and kind to 2 non-French speaking Americans. We had such a lovely stay and would love to return to this property some day.

Room Tip: Our room faced the street which has a school and a church being renovated. We kept the window open...

“Nice and clean budget hotel with friendly and helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

For a budget hotel, the room was nice and clean and reasonably sized. The bathroom is clean and new, so I guess I might be staying in one of newer rooms. The room was also fitted with a LCD TV but all the programs are in French. I like the way the staff will take precautions to lock the main entrance of the hotel even if they were away from the reception counter for a short while.

Location is quite conveniently located near the Dupleix station and a few nice eateries and bakeries around. There is a "Sunday" market (which is actually held on Wednesday) beneath the rail tracks from Dupleix station to La Motte Picquet Grenelle station.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, especially the night staff, Jean, a nice fatherly gentleman who will go the extra mile to make the stay comfortable for the guests. I truly enjoyed my stay there with friendly and helpful staff like Jean.

However, one letdown is the house keeping service. The housekeeping had forget to lock my room door on two separate days and forget to replace my towels (after they remove it ) on a third occasion. Luckily the door to the room can only be opened by the hotel key and its relatively safe (assurance given by hotel staff). But still, forgetting to lock a door by housekeeping is definitely a damper on the stay.

“Nice and clean,near Tour Eiffel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

The hotel itself is a bit old but charming. Though the rooms in "main" building with the lift are being renewed and restored (but they are without TV)). As everywhere in Paris they are very small but it was enough for us. Bathroom is clean and with bath. Older rooms are with TV (but all programs are in French).
The breakfast is 7 EUR but poor. Only yoghurt, croissant, tea-coffee and cheese.
Location: very nice, at silent street in 5-th district, 15 min walk to Tour Eiffel, wery near to metro station (Duplex). Nearby there are a lot of bistros, foodshops etc.
Not bad for this price (80 eur/double room)

“Not expensive but...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

Not expensive, but... Some rooms are separate from each other by a not soundproof door. You can hear your next door neighbour snoring as if he is was in your own bedroom (same for TV and private conversations). The wifi is working very badly. There is a lift but only in one of the 2 buildings. And the strong ashtray smell was explained by the cleaner having a break on my bed with a cigarette!

Room Tip: visit the room first.

“Great location, friendly bilingual staff, you pay for what you get.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2011

Really conviently located near the metro station 'dupleix' and near the Eiffel tower (15 min walk). The rooms are just fine, nothing fancy, and it's not too expensive.
