“Such friendly and helpful staff!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2010

This was my second stay at this hotel, which means I liked it very much the first time I visited, a little over two years ago. The main reason we came back was the staff; they were INCREDIBLY helpful and friendly, and our limited language skills was never a problem. The location is very convenient; with a pharmacy, little grocery store for the necessities, Internet café, bistros and Metro station literally just around the corner.

The building is old and the rooms quite worn down with small bathrooms, but clean and fair considering the price. Beds are a litle too hard, but manageable. The only thing I would say is negative, is the fact that you hear what goes on in the corridor and the nearby rooms very clearly as the walls are thin, but the outside traffic was never a problem - a very quiet area at night, all in all, which was very nice. I will definitely come back the next time I'm in Paris, which I hope will be soon. The staff has made each stay an absolute pleasure, which by far outweighs the old and worn building. A bientot!

“Conveniently located but quite possibly the tiniest hotel in France!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

Location was great. Only a couple minutes from the Metro. Very close to the Gare de Lyon with lots of good restautants.

I was not impressed by the size of the rooms and the elevators in the hotel. Don't get me wrong, for the price we paid i was not expecting it to be the Hyatt Regency but the elevators could not hold more than two people at a time.Even though the sign said maximun three but they would all have to be a size 0 to fit all at once!

My room was clean but again, very vey very tiny. Showering was a major issue. It was clean but the cubicle was sooooo small that every time you turned around, your body would knock the handle that controls the water. The result would be that the water would go all hot, all cold or be turned off altogether! I'm big a big girl either - UK size 8!!!

On a positive note the room was cleaned every day and the beds were really comfy. Staff were all friendly and was always there if we needed advise on were various things.

The hotel is great if you are not going to be in the room all day (which we weren't). On this occasion it suited us fine and as we were on the fifth floor it was very quiet.

Would I stay there again? I might - If I were to do a quick sightseeing trip again.

ps
Forgot to say that they had free wi-fi. That's a plus!

“OK place to sleep in - a shabby area”

Walking distance from Gare de Austerlitz and close to Gare de Lyon. And in Paris, you are never far from a metro station. The area outside the hotel was not very nice. Homeless people in sleeping bags and tents right outside, and not very clean pavments.
Inside, the hotel seemed a bit worn, and whith narrow corridors and small elevators. The size of the room and the bathroom was ok. We could regulate the room temperature as we wanted. You could open the windows, but the rue Diderot is a noisy street. None of the staff were rude, but they didnt pay much attention to the guests, as several of them were waching TV in the front desk, and had what looked like private visitors there.

“avoid at all costs”

I was told this was a quiet air conditioned small hotel. Its not only not quiet - its extremely noisy and doesn't have any rooms on a courtyard. They advertise airconditioning, bu they don't have it. So you either open you windows and don't sleep from the extreme noise, or you die of the heat and lack of air circulation. My advice - stay away.

Dear Madam, Dear Sir,

Thank you for your comments concerning your stay at Trianon Hotel. We appreciate your taking the time to write and hope you will accept our apologies for any inconveniences you experienced.
Given the weather in Paris in recent weeks the air conditioning was not turned in favour of heating. This was cut before you come and please know that the start of the air conditioning must be done within a few days after control for health reasons by an outside company for which we rely in their dates of passage.
Again, We apologize and we appreciate your patronage and hope you will stay with us again the next time you will be in Paris. We can assure you we will do everything we can to make your stay a comfortable and happy one.

Best Regards

“Hotel double booked - do not risk turning up to find no room”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 April 2010

Avoid this hotel unless you like to be cheated.

I booked into this hotel online and received by email a booking reference number and confirmation of the booking. When I arrived, it became clear that the hotel had double booked and that there was no room for me. A german man had arrived in front of me and had the same problems.

The receptionist tried to find space in other hotels in the group but none was available. Eventually the german and I were asked if we were willing to share a room which we were not. After more than an hour of waiting the receptionist booked me into a hotel about a mile away telling me that his manager Paolo Da Silva had authorised him to ask me to pay the bill at the other hotel and then Hotel Trianon would refund me the €61 difference. The Hotel Trianon has now reneged on this second promise.
