My boyfriend and I could only stay in Paris for two nights during the extent of our European vacation, but what an adventure they were. If you're a couple or a sole traveler looking for an adventure, then you're in the right city and state of mind. If you're looking for the best hotel with amazing amenities and a grand lobby, Timhotel Tour Eiffel is not for you. We were on a tight budget and this was a great hotel for our money. We paid about $76 a night, plus taxes.
We arrived at the hotel (which is around the corner from the Dupleix metro stop) late in the evening, the lobby was small, but the staff was perfectly nice and spoke English. He informed us about the complimentary breakfast and the outdoor café. I think the clerk sympathized with us being a young couple in love and gave us the best room they had. I was pleased.
The elevator that took us up to our room on the 6th (and the top) floor was tiny and could only take one of us at a time, which wasn't a problem in the least; it was fun because we embraced it. Our room was tiny as well, but clean, spotless in fact. It came with a TV, a desk, a nightstand, the usual. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were crisp and white, though the pillows were flimsy. The bathroom had been recently remodeled and very clean as well. I believe our room was #62, which has a door that connects to a shared balcony. By the time my boyfriend and I ventured out to the balcony it was nighttime. At the end of the balcony was one of the best views I've seen in my life. We had an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower, shining and sparkling. I felt like we were in a romance film. During the day the scenery from the balcony is great too, but not as fun as the sparkling lights of the tower at night. The Eiffel Tower itself is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. If you’re not in a rush other famous landmarks are also within a walkable distance, although it takes a bit longer. I imagine it would be much nicer in the summer than in December (when we were there). Nonetheless, we managed to see most of the attractions we wanted in two days, despite freezing cold. We left satisfied, with plenty of photos and memories.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends. Word of advice: Do remember to bring your basic medicine with you, like cold and flu medicine, Dramamine, Tylenol and Advil, and most importantly Pepto-Bismol (in pill form) and Imodium (better prepared than sorry).
