“Great Location, Good Price and Friendly Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

This is a really good hotel to stay for a short break in Paris.

The location is superb. The Grand Boulevards station is on the doorstep and from there you can get anywhere. It's also well placed for walking (Notre Dame, Musee d'Orsay etc are all walkable) and for taking the bus. In particular, it is handy if you are taking the Eurostar - Gare du Nord isn't that far away.

The rooms are compact but well put together. The bed was comfortable and the pillows good. There was a TV with a good range of channels (as well as internet radio). One slightly annoying thing was that there was no kettle. I had a bit of a cold so wanted to make some Lemsip. Luckily, the staff were really very helpful and were happy to get me some hot water whenever I asked.

Room position might be an issue for some. I was on the second floor (Rm 216 and had no problem whatsoever, being away from the main road. My friend was on the 5th floor (507) and reported the same, so both of those are recommended.

We didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on that. We had pretty full days of sightseeing, so opted to go to the patisserie over the street for a quick pain aux raisins, orange juice and a coffee before taking on the day for around €4. I would also recommend the restaurant Zinc des Cavistes which is just on across the road on the Rue Faubourg Montmartre for lunch/dinner.

Overall, a great stay and highly recommended.

Room Tip: Opt for 216 or 507 for compact but quiet!

Dear Guest,

Thank you so much for choosing TRYP Paris François for your recent stay in Paris.

We are extremely happy to see your kind comments about our location, our rooms and most especially those with regards to our staff. Concerning the kettle, don’t hesitate to book a Premium room on your next stay in our hotel. All our superior rooms have the tea & coffee facilities.

I hope that we will have the opportunity to welcoming you back in the near future.

Best regards,

“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I dont speak French and I landed a day before my party so I was very apprehensive on how I was going to get around. I contacted the hotel and they were very helpful on how to get to the hotel from the airport. The metro stop is literally right outside the door from the hotel so it is so convenient! I must say the Metro system is very easy to use even better than NY where I live i believe. They gave me a map which practically lays out how to get to any attraction you'd like in Paris. The hotel is on a strip where there are a lot of food choices, even a McDonalds and Starbucks down the block if u want to go simple. Did not try the hotel breakfast as there is a Brioche across the street for cheaper and taste great! Only complaint is my hotel phone did not work and it took 2 days for them to get someone to fix it. Other than that great price for a great location

“Great place in a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

We just returned from a holiday trip to Europe; we visited 4 cities – Paris, Brugge, Antwerp and Brussels – and there will be reviews of 4 hotels that we stayed at. For this particular trip all the reservations were made at least 10 months in advance, so we were curious if the hotels can meet our special request.
The first hotel on our trip was TRYP François. When we were looking for a place to stay in Paris, the main considerations were price and location. TRYP François met both requirements. We did our research and we knew what to expect. This is a basic hotel when it comes to amenities ( could be called a motel ) and we expected that. But the location compensates for everything. The staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful – when we had to get some information about hours or locations, they would call the places directly. The room was small but comfortable with enough storage palce. When making reservation, we requested the top floor overlooking Montmartre blvd. We got this and it was the highlight of our stay. The room comes with a balcony that was bigger than the room. There was nothing like having a Christmas champagne toast on the balcony looking down at the city full of holiday lights. (Not sure why, there was no table on the balcony – I looked around at the adjacent buildings and it was the same; may beit is a city regulation? Too bad, there was enough room for a nice simple table with chairs.)
The internet is not free and there was some confusion with the internet cards (not delivered because of the holidays, so we were told) but w did not care. The breakfast was rather mediocre, we had it only once – and at 19 euro it is absolutely not worth it. (Even at half the price that you get if you have the hotel membership card it is not a bargain considering that you could walk just to any patisserie or boulangerie and have a much better meal).
But, once again, there was nothing about this place that we did not expect; we did our research and we knew what to expect. Because of the location, we did not have to use any transpiration – it is so conveniently located, that you can walk to all places.
The only negative moment during our stay – the cleaning ladies were really loud in the morning; standing right outside of your door and chatting for a long time. Other than that, everything went as expect.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor overlooking Montmartre blvd. Skip the hotel breakfast

“Good staff,good position,excelent price.”

I've been in Tryp last year on february with a friend of mine.I stayed 3 nights. The cost of the hotel is really good, considering that the staff helps you 4 everything, even the night receptionist (poor man!) is really nice.I advise this hotel to young couples. The bathroom of our room was really good,I expected worse, cause of the cheap cost of the room. The unique bad thing was some rust around a window, and on the moquette there was some dust,I could feel it cause I'm allergic of it.The position of the hotel is wonderful,u have starbucks, hard rock cafè,mcDonald, pizza hut,so if u don't wanna eat everyday into a baguetterie,u have places to go there. The street is busy and there are metro stop every 300 metres,is excelent...even if u r on the otherside of the city,u can get home!

I was initially a little worried when we found a room at this Tryp Hotel over Christmas weekend that was much cheaper than everywhere else. But then we arrived and were pleasantly surprised! Nice lobby, helpful staff, everything clean. We got a standard room, which was small, but then you expect that in Paris. We were traveling with friends who upgraded to a more expensive room, and theirs was larger with a street view (we had an air shaft). Location is on a busy street, but directly in front of a Metro stop and walking distance to many attractions. (We actually never took the Metro, just walked everywhere.) Overall a pleasant stay and great value for money.
