This is a really good hotel to stay for a short break in Paris.
The location is superb. The Grand Boulevards station is on the doorstep and from there you can get anywhere. It's also well placed for walking (Notre Dame, Musee d'Orsay etc are all walkable) and for taking the bus. In particular, it is handy if you are taking the Eurostar - Gare du Nord isn't that far away.
The rooms are compact but well put together. The bed was comfortable and the pillows good. There was a TV with a good range of channels (as well as internet radio). One slightly annoying thing was that there was no kettle. I had a bit of a cold so wanted to make some Lemsip. Luckily, the staff were really very helpful and were happy to get me some hot water whenever I asked.
Room position might be an issue for some. I was on the second floor (Rm 216 and had no problem whatsoever, being away from the main road. My friend was on the 5th floor (507) and reported the same, so both of those are recommended.
We didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on that. We had pretty full days of sightseeing, so opted to go to the patisserie over the street for a quick pain aux raisins, orange juice and a coffee before taking on the day for around €4. I would also recommend the restaurant Zinc des Cavistes which is just on across the road on the Rue Faubourg Montmartre for lunch/dinner.
Overall, a great stay and highly recommended.
