“NOT a 4 star hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2010

Amarante Champs Elysees is ok hotel if you expect a 3 - star.
It is totally not worth paying the full price, expecting a 4 star hotel, as they claim to be.
The location is very good, just a few steps of the champs elysees. When you enter the hotel, the lobby seems ok, so far so good. But then, when you enter the room; prepare for disspointment. The room was filthy. Lots of stains on the walls and the furniture, and missing tiles in the bathroom. Even the towells were dirty.
We booked a room, and prepaid extra for breakfast - even this was a dissapointment. You will get a much better breakfast - at a lower price - on the champs elysees.

“Great location and service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 May 2010

I booked this hotel in advance through my travel agent. I chose it over other hotels for the location. I was not mistaken. The hotel is perfectly located as others have stated. The staff went out of their way several times to help us with different needs, from getting a boat dinner, the tour bus passes, metro directions, etc. The room had lovely decoration, probably dated by "modern" standards, but hey! you are in Paris and this is not a business hotel. There were noisy streets around but the noise ceased as the work day ended, so it did not bother us. It is expensive, but I would stay here again for sure.

“This was a great hotel in a perfect location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 April 2010

We were one block off the Champs Elysees and a block from the Arc de Tiromphe. Many stores and restaurants were within easy walking distance of the hotel. The staff spoke English and was very helpful. Our room was on the first floor and was tastefully decorated. We did not eat in the hotel, and we can't comment on the value since we booked a package deal with air and hotel. We took the Air France shuttle from Charles de Gaulle Airport and it dropped us off just a couple of blocks from the hotel. It was an easy walk to the hotel. Also we bought tickets online before we left home for the Les hop on, hop off bus which took us to every major tourist attraction in Paris. Buses come by every 7 minutes and we caught it by the Arch. We would highly recommend this.

“This hotel is filthy and overpriced - Don't stay here...”

When I first booked this hotel it was for the location and I thought the pictures on the website looked ok. However upon arrival it was apparent to me that I had made a bad choice. The staff first claimed that I didn't have a reservation and would send me down to the street to another hotel also run by the same manager....after I threatened to go somewhere else they quickly changed their story and gave me a room in the hotel. When I arrived in the room I was shocked to find black moldy stains on the walls, old worn bedsheets and bed, leaky bathroom and a smell I could not stomach....I immediately checked out and went to another hotel......also, this hotel is overpriced ...they try to charge you 30 € for internet access....after checking out I immediately found a cleaner hotel for less money in the same area....don't be folled by their website pics......do not stay at this hotel....

“Terrible experience!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2010

I booked this hotel having stayed at the one next door (Hotel Vernet) the week before and wanted a change of scenery. Worst mistake ever! It was not what I expected for 200 euros per night! The hotel still uses those heavy keys which you cannot take with you, so that you always have to ask reception every time you come back. I was given a room on the second floor so I went to take the lift, which again was a bit run down, but you don't have to stay in there for too long so that's fine. But here I am, in front of a heavily used door with the big key in my hand and another card for the light. Well, I can say that when I finally got in I was shocked. The room was very small, old, cheap and tacky. And I think I have been generous.
The wardrobe was heavily used too and scuffed, the wallpaper hideous and stained, the toilet seat was yellow, there were holes in the wall and it was all generally run down. A sense of panic pervaded me so I just decided to cancelled the other two nights I should have stayed there, spend the night and try to survive and move to the Vernet the morning after. I woke up too hot and too early at 5 a.m. and could not fall asleep again because of the noise coming from the street. I blessed the moment I left that place…
