“Excellent Hotel”

This is the fourth time that I've stayed at the hotel and the experince has been great. Didi and Henri have been particularly helpful to my wife and I. Excellent location. Near the Pigatelle and St. George Metro Stations. One can walk to the Saint Lazard train station. The hotel is located in the heart of art history. Accross the street is the Pere Tanguay Gallery where Van Gogh displayed his paintings. Rooms are good and very clean.

The Rue de Martyrs offers several cheese and pastry shops. Many delicious cafes nearby, especially Cafe Limo, Fuxia, and Festivo to name a few. A residential area and one to offer the real Paris experience. It's a 30 minute walk to the Louvre.

“Compact and bijou!”

Beautiful hotel in a good location. The room was a wee bit small but when we commented to the (English-speaking) receptionist at check out we were advised to ask for a larger room next trip as they do have lots of them. The breakfast was more than adequate, the cleanliness of the hotel and room itself was excellenet.

Room Tip: Ask for a larger room at check in - they have lots of small rooms

“Great Location, Sweet Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

If you want easy access to the metro, this is a great hotel. If you prefer to stay above ground and walk/eat your way through Paris, it's even better. It's only a block from Blvd des Matyrs, which boasts some of the best cheese, charcuterie, boulangerie, patisserie, produce and wine shops to be found, plus some great cafes...who needs a restaurant when you can buy bits and pieces and picnic for days. There's also a "used clothes" shop just down the block where you can find vintage french and international designer clothes and shoes for next to nothing. The hotel itself is excellent, very clean, good internet, great staff. They will direct you to the "above ground" options. Try the hop on/hop off bus to understand Paris. Or take an easy walk to Montmartre, Pigalle or Gare du Nord.

Room Tip: don't know

“Fantastic Location! Helpful Staff! Clean and adequate rooms = worth the price.”

This hotel is a block away from the St. Georges subway. Very convenient. Although the subways in Paris, for the most part, do not have escalators or elevators. So, if you have a lot of luggages, you will be carrying them up and down the stairs manually. As for the hotel, it is in the heart of the Montmarte area, very close to all the famous Paris attactions. The staff was very helpful. We were given the top room with clean 2 beds, a quaint kitchen, a usable washroom and a fantastic view of the Sacre Cour!!! If you love food like I do, this location will also not disappoint. Steps from the hotel are fantastic cafe's and restaurants. I have had the best baguettes, tartar, escargot in my life in this area. If you like, this hotel is steps away from the famous Montmarte shops. To be honest, this is one of the best boutique hotels that I have ever been. It constantly reminds me of why Paris remains the top city in the world in all the cities that I have been so far.

Some cons that may bother other people: the rooms are a bit old and small. But for me, it adds character to the place. The elevator is small... normal in old cities.

I will definitely come back to this hotel.
