“Good location, nice and clean”

We chose this hotel because it was in Montparnasse and as we had been to Paris only once before and had stayed in this area, we were familiar with it and like the area. Extra bonus is that we used the Air France coach transfer to Montparnasse from Charles De Gaulle airport and as luck would have it, the coach stopped directly opposite this hotel. This was great as we both had large suitcases so it was just a 20 second walk across the road. We used booking.com, happy with the rate we got.

The hotel is very large, huge foyer with a bar and coffee shop etc. We found the drinks in the bar to be very expensive (even though the Aus $ is good) so only had one drink there. Breakfast in the hotel was 25 Euro, we decided to look for alternative options for breakfast and found many little restaurants in the area offered better value for money.

We had room 1535, on the 15th floor. Great views but our room faced the opposite direction to the Eiffel Tower, but we were happy with this room. As with all European hotel rooms (or most of them), the rooms are not large but this room had a lovely huge king size bed, very clean all round, a desk, flat screen tv with many channels (only about 4 or 5 English speaking channels that were mostly news only but that was fine, I think the English speaking channels started on channel 49 or 50), bathroom was clean and reasonably modern with a shower over the bath. Water pressure was great and the hotel provided plenty of complimentary toiletries.

Desk staff were quite good, our check in was swift and relatively painless. There is a small area with 3 PC's for customer use but we found that 2 of them were not working properly and the keyboards were totally rubbish. However, it is also a wi-fi area so if you bring your own laptop (etc), it would be quite useful.

Room service is available but we didn't use this so I can't comment. There are sooo many lovely restaurants and bars around that area (plus a few markets), it's worthwhile getting out and about. We did not find any issues with safety in the area or the hotel, it was very quiet in the evenings and no problems.

Room Tip: You could ask for a room that overlooked the Eiffel Tower area, not sure of the numbers but the chec...

“Great hotel”

The hotel is okay. The furniture looks a little bit old (not suitable for a 4 stars hotel) but it was clean and the breakfast was diverse.
The location is good as it is next to the metro station and it has small shops around and a commercial center right next to it.
For us it was a pleasant stay and we would recommend it for Paris vacation.

“Friendly and inviting”

We stayed at Pullman Hotel Montparnasse for work and leisure purposes. The hotel lobby is very modern and slick. However, the rooms are a tad bit dated, but still nice and inviting. The receptionist were very polite and helpful. On arrival they provided us with a map of Paris and helped as briefly plan our sightseeing activities - this helped us feel right at home. The hotel is literally 3 minutes walk from Montparnasse Station. It also is located very close (2 minutes) from restaurants, shops and cafe's, it is a good location because it's on a quieter street but only 2 mins away from the excitement. It is also close to the famous La Couple restaurant which is worth a visit for posh Parisian food (they also serve fresh truffle). Be prepared to bring a bit of money if you plan to eat here (we were lucky that it was paid for by our company. The breakfast at the hotel is buffet style with a variety of breakfast items e.g. American breakfast (scrambled eggs, sausages, pancakes, beans, bacon etc), Japanes (Miso Soup, Rice), healthy (fresh fruits, yoghurts, fresh orange juice, tomato etc). It can get busy in the breakfast room as the hotel is usually used for corporate events and travel guests. They provide a lovely range of bath products which smell gorgeous. The hotel also has a gym, which unfortunately I never had the time to use. We only paid £220 for 2 nights (double room, BB) and we felt it was worth the price. We would stay at the hotel again. There is apparently good views of Paris and Eiffel Tower if you take Tour Montparnasse (opposite station) and 2 mins from the hotel. Parisians have said it's cheaper and better to go on the Tour Montparnasse to look at Paris rather than Eiffel Tower.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1037 but didn't have views of the Eiffel Tower, I think you should request a r...

“Overpriced and dingey”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I was EXTREMELY disappointed by this hotel. When we arrived we were told we had been upgraded- I would HATE to have seen what our room was meant to be like if that was an upgrade! I had specifically requested a room on one of the upper floors as I had heard the views were spectacular. My request was met, to be fair, but the view was ruined by the grubby, filthy windows! The room was very pokey, and drab. The bathroom felt like a prefab. It was dull, and the whole room felt like it hadn't been touched since the 80's. The shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold and there were absolutely no extra touches in the room to warrant the star rating this hotel has.
I can honestly say it is the most disappointing hotel I have stayed in- ludicrously overpriced, and location is not that great.
Will never be booking a Pullman hotel again!

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors can have nice views, but no wifi

“Average but claiming style”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We stayed in this hotel as part of a lastminute.com deal, we looked at the reviews and asked for one of the recently refurbished rooms. We were well received and checked in quickly. The rooms clearly show the effort made to redecorate them...also have good and comprehensive digital entertainment system and all was clean and working. We did not spend much time in the rooms but as much as we did the view over Paris was very nice and interesting. I've noted in passing that the "eat all you can" fixed price restaurant was grossly over-priced and so was the lobby bar, prices there were incredible..
Nothing really to criticise, an average hotel with good views over Paris from rooms at higher floors, overpriced for what it really offers...if you get a good deal for the room it's well located and connected for exploring Paris.

Room Tip: The recently refurbished ones and high up for good views of Paris.
