“Live review: great location, good Ibis-style hotel, perfect value to money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I am staying at Ibis Opera Le Peletier at the time of writing this review. Actually, just about to leave for breakfast dowstair, which is great but next time I will chosse some pastry shop on Cadet road instead.
Like:
Room is modern and spotlessly clean. Amenity is ok on Ibis standard.
Location is all people talk about. 100 m walk from Cadet metro station (station 7) makes it good base for Paris touring.
In room wifi is free, but need re-registration after using some hours (why?).
Bed is very comfortable, even though it's a bit too soft for my personal preference. Quilt is surprisingly warm (last night is -5 degree C).
TV programme is quite ok and basic, but at least I get Man Utd-Liverpool game on Sat afternoon.
Bathing facility is also what people talk about I found that it's not too wet after bathing even it's not fully covered from toilette area. Though, what I really afraid is how boiler handle such a cold water at the moment, but turns out very fine. Hot water works like what it should be, being hot.
Some may preffered free left luggage, but here they have paid stored luggage locker. I didn't plan to use but it's good option though.

Dislike:
Walkway to room is very narrow. (I stay at 502)
I get stuck in elevator once, while trying to go from -1 level to 5th level, but it takes only 1 min after I push emergency button to have someone helping us.

Not sure:
Enter/leave front door need hotel staff to open (pushing open switch at their desk). On one hand, it probably good security measure during the day where homeless is increasing from EU economic crisis (even thoguh there're limited numbers of homelesses around this area as I saw). On the other hands, it's quite hassle when I need to frequently go out for a smoke. (BTW, it's all non-smoking room).

“Good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Typical Ibis hotel, basic but good

Pros:
-Good location near Opera
-Price is relatively OK compared to similar hotels in the area. Paris hotels are expensive
-Breakfast was good

Cons:
-Repairs were performed, my room was in a strange location. Seems to be the building's inner shaft. Room had no windows. Door was transparent glass/aluminum! Feels like you are staying the street, strange experience

“Not expensive hotel near Opera”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

There is a repair facade wall and inside court yard, but there aren`t noise and dust. Rooms are small, but comfortable. Bed is convenient. Staffs are very helpful. Breakfast`s not bad. Near hotel two Metro-station: Le peletier and Cadet. Rue Buffault is small and not simply find hotel in the evening. It takes 10 minutes to going to Opera and Galery La Fayette or Open Tour Bus station - L`Open Tour 13 Rue Auber. There are many fodd`s and wine`s stores around hotel. No problem to go walking throw Rue Montmartre to Notre Dame. Good choice.

“Basic Hotel in a convenient location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

Rooms are clean and location is good. But the room is of the size of the bed no space to walk also. The bathroom is clean but the shower area does not have a door and is very small.Hotel is near to cadet Metro and 1 km from the gare du nord station(no direct metro from cadet to gare du nord).you have a grocery store nearby and good restaurants.View from the hotel is blocked by the scaffolding's in the front of the hotel. Not a nice entrance as the hotel is under renovation. You can have a luggage locker inside and costs 2 to 4 euro's for 24 hours.

Room Tip: Some rooms are spacious,so before accepting a room ask for a spacious room and not the cramped one.

“Value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

I've stayed in this hotel twice - once in June and once in November and I have to say that this hotel is absolutely a good place to stay - frills free and not too expensive as I was traveling with friends.

First of all, location is brilliant! You can either get off at Le Peletier or Cadet, I prefer the latter as I find it easier to make my way to the hotel. Staff is exceptionally helpful, rooms were clean upon check in and were tidied by housekeeping routinely over the few days we were there. The rooms are big enough for 3, beds are comfortable, sleep quality was good. Basics all nicely sorted out.

We did not try the breakfast, so couldn't comment on that.

Secondly, the hotel is surrounded by cafes, banks, pharmacies, supermarkets - everything within a minute's walk, including a McDonalds if you're getting off at Cadet. The neighbourhood is relatively safe- nice and quiet, even during night times.

If you're arriving into Paris via the eurostar, you only need to change once if I'm not mistaken and sit through a couple of stops before you get off.

Overall, I had a great experience staying here and will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Paris!
