Booked a ten night stay on Marriott points - so I know a lot about Marriott hotels. Some of you may relate.

GOOD
1) free coffee, hot chocolate, and candies
2) clean gym and pool (small)
3) free sparkling water at the gym
4) EXCELLENT location - half a block from the metro station (Tuilleries), the Louvre, the Paris ferris wheel, the Jardin Tuilleries (like a small but cool Central Park), the Musee D'arts Decoratifs (Decorative Arts Museum).
5) Ample shopping that is more expensive than in other areas, but not hugely. For shoppers I'd recommend Le Marais (3rd arrondisment) and the Ile de Cite and Ile de St Louis (04-05 arrondisment). There are no doubt better places to buy stuff, but for the average tourist hitting the highlights, plan your trip to Paris during "Soldes" (mid-January-February, and mid-June-July) or wait til you get home)
6) Easy walking distance to the D'Orsay museum and L'Orangerie. Reasonable walking distance to La Tour Eiffel.
7) Excellent recommendations from the Concierge for places to eat within walking distance.
8) Nice safe neighborhood
9) Super staff. Very kind and helpful.

FOR PLATINUM MEMBERS
1) Free breakfast buffet is extensive and tasty, and service is good
2) Free wireless with reasonable bandwidth

CAUTIONS/DOWN SIDES
1) The rooms are small from an American perspective
2) Ask for a room away from the street - there's an Irish Pub (excellent food by the way) across the street that stays open late
3) The Concierge may promise to make reservations and call you back, but get too busy to actually do what they said... or call you back.

MEH / NOT SO BIG A DEAL
1) The Bvlgari toiletries? Not all that exciting despite the brand name.

Stayed in this Hotel in Mid November 2011 for 3 nights ...It was a pleasant surprise: Room was spacious - According to French/European Standards!-, comfortable, nicely decorated.
Hotel location is really great ...Few minutes from Champs-Elysees and from Rivoli Street.
Hotel Staff very helpful and I was honestly gladly surprised, they speak good English, very helpful, friendly and SMILING!!!! -I used to live in France and I am very familiar with the french rudeness and their weak languages skills!!! sorry to say that but it's a fact!- Tried the room service, very limited choice but tasty ...A special thanks to the bell boys ...They are very helpful and very dedicated (sorry forgot your names guys ...It was in November 2011!)...
I highly recommend this hotel for short business visit mainly ...Best things: The service, the welcome, and location, location, location ... Regrettable things: nothing to report.
Will be coming back for sure...

Just stayed here this past New Year's Eve. Fantastic place - small rooms, but well equipped and cozy. Great design, complimentary champagne on New Year's Eve, and very friendly and helpful staff. Didn't try the restaurant but the location of the hotel is excellent - in the heart of the city with tons of fantastic shops and restaurants nearby, as well as easy access to the metro. All in all a great hotel and somewhere I will be staying many more times in the future.

For my second week in the Paris metro area I stayed here. It was SO CLOSE to the Louvre one can take a break and return after refreshing in the room. I had an upper level room with a very small patio, a good spot for a glass of wine after a long day exploring the sights. The turn-down service was a nice surprise, coffee in the lobby & the lobby Library area is a good spot to relax & browse the paper or books there. It is a more unusual Marriott, boutique-like, but full-service in every way. Close to the Place Vendome, it is also a good locale if you'd like to walk to D'Orsay & Orangerie museums.
If you explore bit you'll find small groceries & coffee shops nearby as well. Don't hesitate to look into the courtyards since they hold shopping, antiquities, & bookshops.
